New squirrel rifle

Where I live, I really couldn't utilize the extra range of the 17 WSM. Most of the time, you can't see squirrels beyond 65 or 75 yards for a clear shot. So almost all my shots are less than that.

But I bet the folks who hunt rabbits and foxes in New Zealand and the UK would love that rifle. Be good for groundhogs too.

Congrats! 👍 Your first time is always special and one that is remembered forever! 😁 Oh, and congrats on your first squirrel kill with your .17! 😉

I'm envious, squirrel hunting here is near non-existent……and I love squirrel hunting as much or more than big game hunting! memtb
Funny looking squirrel. lol

🤣 375AI on Squirrels 🐿️
Don't laugh! 😁 I killed quite a few with my old .308 Win using cast bullets……head shots.

I've killed a few Cottontails, and a few grouse up here with the AI….using cast. Though, I've actually killed more grouse with full-house loads. No matter the load…. head-shots are mandatory! 😜 memtb

Beautiful rifle. buy several types of ammo and try them to see what shoots best. Also, when you switch from brand A to B fire about 10 shots before shooting for a group. I don't know why but it seems that the rifle needs to "settle in" with that ammo. I found that my Bergara BMR shoots best with SSK Standard plus and CCI Varmint. 1/4"=3/8" ten shot groups at 50 yds.
I have no doubt your CZ will shoot great with the right ammo.

Differences between the bullet lubricant on the new ammunition and the ammunition you just tested. N.B. Heavy on the beeswax for Biathlon ammunition. Heavy on the tallow, for ammunition that is expected to be shot during very hot summer months.
