New Rifle build Please tell me why I should or should not build a 25-06

A little input I have a short action Savage that want to build a new Rifle. I have a .270, 300 wm, 6.5 cm
So I am thinking a 25-06 or a 22 creedmoor I reload so I will need to get brass and Bullets can brass be found for the 25-06?
25.06 long action....love mine for many years for Deer/Antelope.....not Elk. Flat shooter, brass everywhere.large bulklet selection..great

No .308 in the safe? I thought it was like a .22, everybody has at least one. You'll never have trouble finding brass.

Coming late to this discussion, but I highly recommend the 25-06! I own 3 of them myself, Rem 700, Kimber 8400 and a Ruger M77 MK II. I had more than this a year ago, but had to sell some to stay afloat. I really regret selling my top line Kimbers.
Anyway, the 25-06, and all of the quarter bore rounds, are highly underrated. They kill far bigger animals than their paper ballistics would lead you to believe.
I am dabbling with a new 257 Bee, it isn't as accurate as my 25-06's to date, but it's not in-accurate either.
Just wish this blank was longer than 26" and had a 1:9" or 1:8" twist.

Cheers.

I've owned, loaded & shot multiple 25-06 and 22 Creedmoor rifles. Go with the 22 Creedmoor. Shooting an 88 grain bullet from a 22cm @ 3350mv will retain quite a bit more energy than an 85 grain from a 25-06 @ 3500mv. I can tell the difference on a 500 yard gong. The 22 Creedmoor will ring the gong much louder & harder than the 85gr in the 25-06. I have to step up to a 115gr Berger in the 25-06 in order to develop similar energy on that gong. Then I have more recoil along with the 115gr and it doesn't resist the wind as much as the 88gr in the 22 Creedmoor.

Please show your calculations showing the .22 CM 88g @ 3350 FPS MV KE advantage at 500Y over .25-06 85g @ 3500 FPS MV. Thanks.
