The life expectancy for a Remington 700
"The life expectancy of a Remington 700 is in days, weeks, maybe a season it won't last a year." ... I bought a Rem 700 LTR in 308 total factory, put 8000 rds through the factory barrel, rebarreled it, trued tbe action another 8000 rd, rebarreled again, I have around 22,000 high pressure match loads on that Remington 700 action. And many other Remington 700 actions with over 10,000 rds, have been rebarreled, but no action has failed. Also using a trued Remington 700 and stock Ruger test rifle for 80,000 psi hybrid cases In 308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor ... and thats just me. What about all those Rem 700s used by military snipers by the thousands, since the Vietnam War, and all the trued factory actions and some not, that won matches before all the aftermarket actions were even conceived. Mike Walker, brought the 700 to bench rest with his new 222 Rem cartridge and the Rem 700 action and shot tiny groups, the 40X in several configurations and calibers, available from Remington, the action was the same as the production action, with the bottom ground for good bedding, and a non hammer forged barrel.
Most of mine are older, and they have been good rifle actions...I have not handled a new 700, and most of mine are 20 plus yrs old, and were good rifles with no failures and lasted a lifetime in most cases with heavy use.
Your claims of lasting a week, etc seem overly exaggerated, to the point of disdain and snobbish toward anyone who does not have your taste for expensive custom actions, which are nice but not even necessary, like a good barrel.
I am grateful that common gun companies, Remington, Ruger, Savage etc offer products of usually decient quality, at a reasonable price, for "poor" folks to enjoy shooting sports, and add more value, and necessary protection, to their lives...you must be, and are commanded to armed, high dollar is not in the command,... but possession is.
