New Antelope rifle arrived today !

It's their exhibition grade Claro walnut. My pics don't show it well.
That makes sense - lighter than black walnut and higher grade than Bastogne. Expensive walnut, and you have a masterpiece. Plus, Claro has superb durability. The high gloss varnish highlights any color contrasts. I built custom cabinets for awhile, and I love to see high quality. Congrats on such a beautiful rifle stock.

Here's my antelope rig. 3Rd barrel I ever chambered, 2nd stock I made from a blank,,,,,, over 27yrs ago..............

3-18x50. Excellent scope but nowhere near the capability of the DS rangefinder scope. I figure I can go from 40 scopes down to 5.

I find they work very well on high intensity cartridges. Don't tarnish either. Never had a peeling problem. Also harder to lose in the sagebrush.

Back in the day I used Rem Nickle cases for both my 6/06 (necked down 25) and for my 257 Wby (necked down 7 RM).

I kind of like nickle cases
