I like the dual grip thumbhole. Got 4 in various grades of walnut, the above in the electric blue laminate and one in purple sapphire laminate. They say free rosewood forend tip and grip cap, but the one above is a reddish wood called padauk.
Here is what the rosewood looks like.
Also I don't think that checkering looks that good on some of the laminates.
The finish is just clearcoat which my friend had done at a local body shop each time that they had a vehicle needing it. The stuff is over $100 per gallon IIRC.
I don't need any more, but if I did the midnight fire laminate would be kind of cool I think.
