What beautiful piece. My father has one with a stock very similar except in a 270wm. And he sited it in and it actually shot very well. But because of the stock and how beautiful it's he doesn't take it off the property.

Beautiful stick of wood there! This is only me and not meant as a negative but if it were mine I'd have a good smith refinish in a nice rubbed oil finish and then hunt the living heckola out of it!! Maybe I missed it but is it a 24" or 26". The 257 has long been one of my favs and will work wonders on elk and moose as well as deer/lope etc.

Beautiful, if it shoots good as it looks you have a trophy, I'm big on beautiful wood myself, black guns just turn me off.

I am also a sucker for beautiful grain. I've got a custom 6mm built on a Sako action. I just wont take it anywhere but the range. I've got some Myrtlewood that is planned for a build with a .308 Remmy 788.

Good luck on the goat hunt! I am hoping to drawout this year on a hunt here in Oregon this year.
