Must use 30 cal for moose

My wife said I am not allowed to go moose hunting our ceiling's are not high enough , but I would use my 300 Win with 200 gr A-Frames.

what do these numbers mean ?
these numbers tell me that I have 152 days until moose season and I have to use a 30 caliber cartridge to hunt moose with

Don't believe me ? These maths don't lie ..

152 (days) divided by 6 (the months the days are in) = 25.3333333 + 5 (letters in Moose) = 30.3333333 = 30 and then the seven .3's represent the letters in caliber

I have to hunt moose with a 30 caliber rifle this coming season in 152 days ! the numbers don't lie !!!!

Which 30 caliber cartridge ? That is still a mystery though , but I'm working on solving that riddle, stand by .......

My friend that lives in Alaska said all you need is a 30-06 Moose are not hard to kill just heavy to carry out.

I have numerous good moose calibers but last moose taken with 9.3X62 Mauser with 286 grain bullet at 2450fps. Not a long range caliber but a real moose stopper at close ranges up to a couple hundred yards. One shot down didn't even raise its head. I hunt a fair bit for moose in heavy stuff close range work. Over the years a lot of moose taken in Canada with the old 303 British as well as 300 Savage seemed to be also quite popular. But a tremendous amount of new 30 caliber variation as well.

Mmmmmmmmmm! 95 grains of Retumbo and a 200 grain Accubond at 3200 FPS with a 300 RUM!!! Makes my knees buckle down thinking of it!

Maybe I am just the "balck sheep" but I never thought to use a 0.308" diameter on Moose. I have always used 0.338" or 0.458" (338 Win Mag or 45-70). I would not know what to use in the 30 caliber class. but I do have wonderful Barnes X and a 30 win mag I would probably try.

I would go traditional, 30-06, 180 grain

Moose have been harvested with the trusty 30-30 but few will object to the power and effectiveness of that newcomer, the 30-06.

It is only 115 years old but is very respectable even for a newcomer.

There was talk of using a 150 gr TTSX in my 30-30 TC Contender, but it would have to be "lung range" hunting, lol
