Congrats! Maybe a dumb question but what is a bonded ballistic tip (clearly not an accubond or you would have said so I'm sure). Is that a Nosler product? Am I slipping a cog and asking a stupid question? Wouldn't be the first time…my 2021 moose hunt was a successful venture, had my choice of ten different 30 caliber cartridges to choose from
I selected my bone stock factory Remington 700 LSS to hunt with, for a couple reasons
My new 30 cal wildcat build got delayed & wouldn't make the hunt, so that left me wide open to choose from the ten 30's I have and a wide assortment of bullets from numerous manufacturers
As it worked out... I was messing with the awesome ADG brass and testing the new (to me) 180 gr Bonded Ballistic Tip bullet just before the hunting season and wanted to shove one into a moose, test rifle was my plain vanilla swirl factory rifle chambered in the almighty King of All 30 caliber factory cartridges
ALL HAIL ! the 300 Remington Ultra Magnum !
ha ha !
anyway, the Bonded Ballistic Tip bullet was extremely impressive .... both in accuracy during load work up and geSmashing the moose down STAT at 350 yards, ya, not long range but ain't my fault, I was set up on a swamp with potential shot opportunities out to 800 yards but the gnarly ol spider rack looking bull stepped out @ 400 or so & headed directly towards me, by the time legality of antlers was determined and he finally stopped and offered a broadside shot, he'd shortened the distance a bit
more gack to follow when I have time, busy building plywood marten trapping boxes at the moment

The idea is to get them on the way out!Nothing wrong with that......the farther you shoot em, the farther you have to pack em!
Was told "Many" years ago that there was (only) one place to shoot an ELK. In the Bed of your Truck!. Might also work for Moose and Rabbits also! The idea is to get them on the way out!
A number of years ago I went deer hunting with a couple of friends. I didn't see a thing until my return,, as I came out of the forest. I dropped a deer just 10 yards from my truck.
The other two guys? They got lost & showed up 2 hours later than planned. No deer.
that's not the only place but it's the best place. Was told "Many" years ago that there was (only) one place to shoot an ELK. In the Bed of your Truck!. Might also work for Moose and Rabbits also!
