Does anyone have any information with the 195 EOL in a 7 mag, and H1000? I'm thinking of giving the 195 a shot in my 7 mag. I have an 8 twist barrel, which should stabilize the 195 just fine. If I can get 2850 fps out of the 195 in my 7 mag, I might just play around for a bit. Any other powders I might experiment with? I'd like to stick with a temperature stable powder too. Thanks again for all the replies so far.

West Texas Ordnance builds a version of this. There is also the 7mm hulk, which has a modified shoulder from parent case.

300 Norma would be next step if your looking for more HP.

I tend to agree with this.

IMO-there's not enough gain going from a 175 to a 195 with more horse power if you're planning to keep the 7rm.

If keeping the 7rm you may want to look at a big 30 designed around 210 vld's are larger.

Berger offers a 195 grain hunting 7mm bullet. Hornady offers a 175 grain hunting bullet in 7mm. Sierra has matchking bullets in 7mm up to 197 grains, gameking bullets to 175 grains. Nosler offers a 185 grain 7mm hunting bullet.

I have the 7 Practical and love it. Shooting 180 eldm at 3100. Could it go faster yes. But no reason. I think in time you will be happier with the 180 Eldm's terminal performance over the 195 EOL at extended ranges. The 195 seems to be a little hard and expansion isn't all that great when compared to the eldm. I'm also running a 1-9 twist with no stability issues. The good thing about this is I have the option of running any 7mm bullet I want without hitting pressure too soon or ripping up jackets.

Mine is a 9 twist to. I have a 180 vld load too. It's a hunting gun. But shot a 12" 3 shot group at a mile the other day. So going to stay with 195 for now

I'd look at RL 33 in the 7mag and larger capacities for the 195. I tried it in my brothers gun with a ladder because of what I read here. His rifle is shooting the 168's with retumbo exceptionally well. I cleaned his rifle and did a ladder with RL 26 and Rl33 180 hybrids. I was able to match the speed of the 168's/retumbo with the 180/RL26. I'm at just over 3120 with the RL33 vs 3080 with rl26. The powder is through a drop tube and crunching a bit. This is with 4th firing annealed rem brass. Neck sized with a lee collet die. It will need a shoulder bump for the next loading. Not the best but it did have a consistent 35ish fps gain over the 3 grains of change. Will it shoot as well as the retumbo IDK he doesn't want to change anything till after deer season.
27"douglas or shillen on a push feed m70. He had a 700/26" combo that wouldn't shoot the 180's. Another with the same E prefix did.

So I tried rl 33 and yes you can get better velocity. But not as temp stable. And not as good ES I'm in single digets 5 FPS last 3 shots.

And yes I have a lab scale to a 100 of a thousands help get Es,s there.

A 50 BMG case necked down to 7mm gives all the velocity you can get, needs the slowest powder made and then some. Will make anyone who has a 7mm love relationship delighted. Barrel life, well that is another topic depends upon the rate of fire and the number of rounds fired.

I have loaded for 14 or 15 different 28 Noslers. All but 1 shooting the 195 Berger. Every one has been between 3090-3165fps using RL33. All have been .3 or better. And they have taken some amazing game animals.

28 Nosler is tough to beat, I'm shooting 195 Bergers at 3150 and they have done great on bear, antelope, elk at various ranges, very impressed with it so far. Bullets do a little more damage than what I like but the animals don't go anywhere.

Not picking a fight. I have a 7stw, 7 ultra too. I like the short case so you can play with seating vs 7 ultra. But I did shoot a 10" group with 180 hyb at a mile with it..
