Mass Shootings - Why?

I did not say you did but you did play along with it but that is ok because it was in good fun. I appreciate your patience. I try to do the same with you. If I have been insulting or disrespectful, I sincerely apologize. My posts question when people don't want to be questioned and it upsets them. If something does not make sense to me, I have a tendency to question. I consider myself a student and always will until my last breathe and a good student always questions regardless of how unpopular the question is. Just because I am for the 2nd amendment does not mean I can't pose questions and discuss it. I appreciate your explanations and it causes me to think and research but unfortunately that brings up other questions so I want to discuss further. Thank you for indulging my ignorance and helping to educate me.
I don't mind being questioned. If a person cannot back up his beliefs, his views are just diatribe. I wish I could convey mine better in the written word.

" It says a well regulated militia is necessary for the security of a free state." That is the why.
The meat of it is "shall not be infringed". That's not ambiguous.

There is no requirement for a militia in the amendment, but there is the protection of our right to keep and bear arms should we ever need to have a militia. It is not dependent on activity having a militia… it's not use it or loose it.

The pro-socialist movement has been spewing such untruths for years.
You just torn it apart and made it meaningless. You just tossed out "a well regulated militia is necessary for the security of a free state.". Thats the first half of the amendment. You are saying the first half of the 2nd amendment is meaningless but the 2nd half isn't. Along with tossing out the militia, you are tossing out the 2nd amendment being necessary for the security of the free state. Isn't that the entire point of the 2nd amendment?

Not many will just give up their right to the 2A. But the govement will do anything they can to take it. These killings are used to take gun rights. The Vagas killing spree, there were video of muzzle flash coming from more than one window. All the witnesses ended up dead one way or another.
Every witness against the clintons, dead. Many shooting theirself in the back of the head two times.
In the school shootings something is fishy when the LE are ordered to stand down while the killing spree continues. Even a volunteer fire dept has a quicker response getting on scene with no one at the station. LE are already on duty and in their units and take over an hour to arrive. Not knocking LE. Something is just fishy about this. There are always lunatics waiting for their chance of fame. The past proves that.
So, no don't give up your guns. If things continue on this course, the day is coming you will need them.
You know I have a personal friend who was in that crowd at Vegas; known him since he was little; in his 30s now. Helped drag people to safety. He told his dad there was gunfire coming from more than one direction. Dad, said must have been an echo. He said no, I saw muzzle flashes and saw folks being hit from different directions.
And boy did that story disappear quickly.

And, like ButterBean, I question a kid working part time at Wendy's buying DD rifles complete with Eotech and 1600 rds ammo + mags.

Something is fishy here. Why don't we know the answer to this question?

Also, why don't we know how the Vegas guy got all that stuff into a hotel room?

I have no idea on either, but it seems no one is interested.

I questioned the wording of the 2nd amendment and you explained the point about regulated militias. I brought up the fact that based on your explanation, the 2nd amendment sounded outdated. You went on to further explain to clear that up which I appreciate but I don't think I needed to backup my beliefs to ask those questions. Perhaps it was something else I said that you are talking about. We were all over the place with this thread.

NO, I was referring to me, not you. See why text is a bad way to communicate? No wonder why our kids are screwed up. If you really want to read something wild, find the minutes of the Continental Congress. We had a couple of Founding Fathers who were what we now call Progressives. It really got heated. They might just not be the ones you think they are either. I'm not going to spoil it....

I will definitely go out and read it

My Son in Law's Boss committed Arkanside recently when the Clintons were in town. Made too many trips to an Island and just couldn't live with himself. They will never Investigate, much less prove any wrongdoing. This doesn't mean he was not murdered, and it does not prove you are wrong. There is so much corruption I only believe we will never know the truth. Maybe its best we don't. Someone might do something..... Line sounds familiar.

You pose some very interesting legitimate questions that are being ignored, even by journalists & supposed fact gather's.
The Uvalde Police & the School District are no longer cooperating with the State Investigators......& no one is even questioning or even commenting on it.
What else is going on that we don't know about??

We don't know what we don't know. If that isn't one of the pillars of Socialism it should be. Why is it we label Rats stupid, cowards, or whatever? Assume they know exactly what they are doing and taking advantage of every situation they come across to get their way and you will be much further along in understanding the game. the Chicago way; Never let a crisis go to waste!

Then read how the Constitution could not be ratified without including the Bill of Rights. without them there would have been no Constitution or Federal Government.
Orange Dust i commend you on your tenacity with this, problem is you me or anyone else will never change a lefty liberal. They will always deflect and try to convince others to think or believe what the 2nd amendment should be and not what its been for over 200 years.
They would much rather tear it apart and start over.

I'm going to skip the militia debate. I'll stick with the practical aspects of self protection. I believe there area three Supreme Court cases that cover that the police are not responsible for individual's protection, but the community at whole. So they do not have to respond to any calls. It used to be an average of one officer for every thousand citizens. So there's no way they cover everyone. They come to someone's rescue out of a sense of duty.

Once people start realizing this they'll take more personal responsibility in their own self protection. Now anyone can protect themselves and others. It just requires the physical ability, the mindset, and the awareness to do so. Training goes a long way to getting someone ready to prevail. So anyone that claims a citizen, teacher, ete cannot protect themselves with a firearm I'd say they are wrong.
Edit: Here's one of the first courts cases that I made reference to earlier. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_v._District_of_Columbia

The entire Bill of Rights are what makes this Country different and Special. They are Sacred to me. If I can get anyone interest in learning the truth about our Country I will try. I may not be good at it, but I will try. Hopefully some of you are better at it than I am and will try too. All Citizens need to know all the good and bad things that were done to create what we have before it is lost. This is no longer being taught in Government schools like it was when I was a boy and schools were under local control. It will be completely lost in another generation if we don't take the time to teach it.
