Magnum primer vs. Standard???

Although I have been reloading for 40 years...what PSI difference is seen on above primers? How hot is Rem. 91/2 M primer? Thanks in advance, D.

I started to run Rem 9 1/2 Mag primers as hot LR applications since they are considered mild magnum primer. In couple loads so far, seems to be change to the good. Low ES SD and good accuracy. YMMV

When I've compared standard and magnum primers, I've generally found it easier to get good groups and SDs with standard primers. So that's what use even in my 338WM and 7RM.

I like the standard Winchester large rifle primer, kinda like a happy medium. I use them in everything from 30-06 to 7mm RUM.

With primers hard to locate, I was considering Hornaday Superperformance & Rem.91/2M in 6
5 Creedmoor. Somehow I found several hundred of those primers on my bench. Safety first! Large Rifle hard to find here in Erie, PA!
