Lower velocity 375 bullet recommendation

When I checked last they weren't Making these anymore. Apparently they cut down on bullet options when they were bought out. I think they said they may start production again at a later time but every time someone tells me that it never happens.

They are back in stock. They stopped for a while but they're back in stock now.

^^^^ This is good news. I had very good accuracy and performance on deer with this bullet in a .375 Winchester Contender pistol and a .375 Encore rifle.

What about the 235 grn. TSX?
Gday fff
My problem with the tsx in marksman's case is your potentially in the parts of the velocity impacts & resistances on some critters that will show there are better suited options imo
It's a bit like the235 Speer hotcor as that pill out of a rum or h&h up close is pretty insane how much damage it can produce but get impact velocities down to sub 2300/2400ish preformance really starts to drop off

but run the tsx or hotcor @ higher impacts & resistance , now those pills 🤔that's worthy of choice

Imo of course

Here's one of the best low velocity impact pills I've used but i don't think they make anymore

Don't have any of the woodleigh left that magnum maniac talks of as they were a touch better ( this is in design a round nose is a better design terminally but range dependable for impact velocity )
The coppers on this if I was to go that way i would be extremely careful in following minimum recommendations on them but the subsonic variety should work well for this application as surely they would open to a big enough meplat % plus sub velocities 🤞

250 weight class is where I'd limit my weight choices but lower I'd be in this situation & choose wisely on pill preformance capabilities
Watch the velocity impacts people are using when giving advice as this is extremely critical for you

I appreciate the reply. I tried the old style version of those, and got consistent 5" groups out of them. I have not tried the newer style, however. My best accuracy has been with a 270gr Speer BTSP so far, followed closely by the 260gr accubond. The accubonds are a bit tougher to accelerate just because they're a bit bullet due to the tip, I hit case capacity earlier.

My worry with the all coppers like the TSX, as others have said, is the lower velocity window. I'm starting in the 2400 range with those, which doesn't give me much room to play. But the subsonic varieties like the maker or Lehigh would likely work well. I do ponder though, if I'm going to shoot a 185 gr Lehigh, why did I go to all the work to make a .375 when I could have just stuck with a .308 shooting 180's?

Gday mark
The main thing the 375 really offers is the size of the meplat down @low velocities
But shape of it is also important but I do somewhat agree that you can get some pills out of 30 cal to mirror or exceed the killing efficiency of the 375

Now going lighter again than that 185 LHD pill , hammer has a 137sh which worries me for you , yet put that pill in a situation of 3500 impacts plus & watch the wow factor over that 185 LHD ( that's from my mate as he used to use the 185 I've only used the 137SH with great results on correctly matched critter size) but keep away from medium to bigger critters or higher resistance critters as it will be found wanting better for lightweight light resistance

I would really look @ hawk bullets or maybe the fury as I did just recently as I was meant to test a new chambering that Is potentially going to hit the market from weatherby but that's gone for my own personal reasons & so be it as frees me up for life's greater goals 😇

Anyway The flat point or round nose versions are terminally more efficient by design on the way they work & you can see this in a few different resistances & one that the critters react differently when hit with those styles of pills
Only issue is the speed of the pill they bleed off compared to a spritzer or like but these lower impact's @200/300 fps impact difference I'll take a round nose or flat point of good working ability over a spritzer or like every time

The issue I have I just haven't shot these so I'm theory based on this sorry

As for your current 270 gr btsp
It really works better with a little more speed & why I'd look @ a different pill & in the weights of 250 max personally I'd be honing in on the 220/230 weight ranges

Jm2cw & a little more food for thought

Ps I hate bears also as I've got no personal data on them only references /advice/discussion with some people I really rate as knowing their stuff so on a bear skull I'm fairly confident that even the 270 gr pill will get through
I do a lfair bit of testing on skull impacts on different critters along with angles & teeth impacts on those skull impacts as teeth offer a different world of what they do to a pill but I have trouble seeing bear teeth being a issue but once again I just don't know ( never asked that question to the ones I rate so my bad ) the impact angle is going to be the issue if it's one on a bear skull imo

Cheers
