After posting my thread earlier regarding scopes if been looking around. If my B-14 HMR 300WM works put around yhe 500 yd mark with the current Athlon scope I may upgrade to a different optic. I'm looking at the Nightforce NX8 3-24 or March 2.5-25 w/tactical turret.
This will probably be the last scope on this rifle so you long rangers please respond.

SFP or FFP?

Prob SFP, the March FFP equivalent is 3-24x

Check out the Trijicon Tenmile 3-18x44 too @Clem Bronkoski 👍

... and below are the NX8 offerings unless I am missing something.

I am NF all the way. Don't know if you ever saw them zero the rifle, take it off drive a nail into a 2x4 then put it back on and still hit zero. I have a couple of rifles that have taken a beating and they still have NF on them.
Just my thoughts. Everybody is different thankfully.

Feenix as far as illuminated reticles go IMO they are worthless in bright sunlight. I have a couple scopes with them. Even on the brightest settings you can barely see the illumination. Low light yeah, they're great.
I just want a simple MOA type reticle, even the "Christmas tree" reticle I consider too busy.

I wouldn't go that far Nick but from everything I've read the NF is one of the most durable scopes on the market. But I also heard that their CS isn't that great. March are really good too. Lighter than a NF as a whole, a bit less durable but also a little pricier (I guess because of the better glass).
I have time to decide because I won't be shooting for a while and when I do I still have load testing to do then figure out a dope card for that load and practice, practice, practice.
My HMR in 6.5CM is currently my baby and seems like it just can't miss out to 300 yards. Recoil is basically nil.
