I just thought I'd stomp the nest. I'm in Mexico mule deer hunting and my 7 prc is loaded with 170 hht . I just thought I'd try them being I have never killed anything with hammer bullets and this will be my last time ever shooting these things! Shot a buck at 318 had to shoot him twice and could have used another. Shot buck at 785 he needed another bullet is running 3220 FPS!
Going back to my Berger's and Barnes !
Yes all well placed shots! Just my personal opinion I'm out!

Describe with specificity the location of the shots 1 & 2?

Describe with specificity what the did after shots 1 & 2?

Why did you think it needed a third?

Did you recover any of the bullets? What did they look like?

Ten animals may react in a variety of different ways from the same shots.

Look at the attached video. That wild pig fell go up and ran 15 yards, fell and an arterial spurt large enough to be captured from ~110 yards away occurs, got up ran up hill about 25 yards to the tree line, and was recovered about 100 yards up the hill in the tree line. Necropsy showed a substantial hole in the heart. Was that bad shot placement? Bullet failure?

IBTL: in before the lock. What posters on a message boards will sometimes say in response to a thread/topic that will eventually be locked/closed. This is a way to show that the thread is incredibly dumb or goes against the rules of the message board. Used to sometimes get in a free post to raise one's post count before the topic gets locked, preventing any further posting in it.

Twist rate! Or the copper metallurgy? I'd call Steven direct

I've never heard of failures especially that many unless it's the YouTube guy.
