Hard to choose. I guess it'll be these two.

For prairie hunting - mulies and antelope - .260AI, HS stock, Bartlien barrel this time (4th .260AI barrel on this action), blueprinted 1970's 700 action, 6.5-20X Leupold. Hard to say just how many one shot antelope and mule deer kills this has made. My daughter ringing steel out past 700 yards.

For hunting in the Black Hills - whitetail and elk - a plain Jane 7-08 Kimber Montana, 4.5-14X Leupold. Such a pleasure to carry and to shoot!

These are my, not so little, friends. The bolt actions is a 700 Remington BDL in 270 Win and the AR platform is a Ruger SR 762, ie, 308 Win. Both have over 1000 yard capability thow at 75 years old I no longer have the physical capability for such long shots.

Hello Ben
What stock is that? is it carbon fiber?
It looks like a Mcmillan Game Scout.
Best regards
V

They are both carbon fiber McMillans. The one on top is a game warden, the one on the bottom is a game scout. I think anything larger than a number four contour McMillan recommends a game warden which is why my muzzleloader had to be in a game warden.

Let's try some old school. My father's 1903A3 Springfield pictured here after a thorough cleaning. He picked it up as a barreled action for $18.50 after WWII. I'll bet it has had 1500 rounds through it, but still pus three 180 grain Remington Corel-Lokts within an inch at 100. I've not been able to develop a load that it shoots better so why I stopped trying. The stories it could tell.

I have almost the same story! My dads Springfield loves Hornady 150's.

Yes, I have an adjustable Game Scout with a #3B fluted, and an adj. Warden with a Proof Sendero.
Both great stocks, but the adj. comb adds some undesired weight.
Thank you
Regards
V
