Then why post this study and kick the ant pile? Then double down by calling people ignorant and prejudiced. Why not just make your bullets and let the market decide how good they are. Sometimes, especially as a business you need to stay out of the weeds and not start throwing rocks. You just cant seem to do that. It's not like you were randomly attacked. You posted this knowing the sensitivity around the subject.

In Steve's defense, he didn't start this thread. ButterBean did. But how anyone in the hunting world hadn't heard the politics of the lead free bans is very surprising. Obviously it's not a new issue, since the Sierra Club supports the video in question.

Here is a documentary that Hammer Bullets participated in about the effects of lead on birds of prey. We are most definitely not for legislation against lead bullets for hunting. We would much rather have people find us and use us because we make a better product than what they have used before. With that said, I have talked to enough people that are highly educated and deal with lead toxicity in birds to understand that it is a real thing that comes form them eating lead contaminated meat and gut piles. The problem is that the birds have the ability to break down lead to the point that they can absorb it, and it is a cumulative effect. There is definitely an uptick in the problem during big game hunting season when the birds of prey are transitioning from hunting live prey to scavenging dead animals going into the winter.

Again, terminal performance was the reason that we got into lead free pure copper bullet production. Nothing else. We also look at ourselves as stewards of the land and the animals that inhabit it. If something as simple as using pure copper bullets for hunting big and small game will make a difference in populations of scavenger birds and birds of prey, that is a good thing. I liken it to when we stopped using DDT on crops and it made a huge difference in the birds of prey and their nesting success. Anyway here is the documentary. I was very apprehensive about doing it because we did not want to be painted as the "mean hunters". I think it turned out well.

There was no intent to kick the ant pile. It was posted all over social media. Only here have I been ridiculed and likened to an anti hunter and even compared transgender influencer. It may be your opinion that I shouldn't defend myself from such vile garbage but I'm simply not going to take it without response. Never has been and never will be. I never pick a fight.

Pretty much just have to bury the parts hit by the bullet. That's where the majority of the lead will be. But if the eagle population is growing even with all the lead hunting bullets then there really isn't a need for a lead ban.

Now propose their numbers are high resulting in the legal taking of a quote and I'm first in line!!

Read up on the condors, where the lead ban first started. You'll see it's all about politics and stopping hunting. The Eagle just replaced the condor is all.

The issue is much greater than an 8 minute left wing sponsored video can cover.
