RBROS rifles build with Travis's craftsmanship and attention to detail
He has a write up about his work on the RBH line of cartridges

Mine rifle is 22 inch proof with Travis's action set in a manners MCS stock with a Diamond tech trigger

Well I had forgotten about this thread. Shame on me. Here it is 2022 and at the end of it no less.
Let me update this.
I'm a full time assistant guide now. I've had many great seasons since this original post. I never got to hunt the big brown bears but have been guiding for them. Also been guiding for moose, caribou, grizzly bears and wolves.
I've been socking away my guide money for a Dall sheep hunt. I'm scheduled for 2024 now. Paid in full!! What a journey this dream has taken me on. Should be a adventure of a lifetime
I finally settled on my rifle choice for guiding in Alaska. It has worked out great for the last 4 years.
375 RBH (338 Norma mag necked up and improved) with a 270 grain Hammer @ 3000fps

With its 22 inch barrel it's very packable in the alders on the peninsula and the willows of the Brooks range.
It's been a wild ride so far and I'm still hanging on to see how far I can go with this
I believe I saw that rifle on the peninsula this spring! You are a good bunch of guys, I had a fantastic hunt with you. Good luck on your sheep hunt, I'd love to hear about it after it happens!

Show us a pic of your bear!!
You had the adventures of a lifetime on your bear hunt!
Thanks for the kind words!!
It certainly was the adventure of a lifetime! We were very fortunate with the nice weather too!
He fell in that tight little creek valley, there was no moving him for better pictures. Used 338 WM, 250 gr partition.

Great choice: I have a similar caliber 375 Lapua improved (also have a 458 LAI in the works for Africa, the 458 has a 22 in. tube like yours.)

270 Hammers at 3k is more than enough to kill anything on the planet even if it is mad. I have a 375 Wby I got 270 Swift A frames up into the 2800 range.
How about a 458 Lott. That sounds good

Because I can't not mess with stuff. I have the same rifle in 375 Wby that was originally a 375 H@H.
Well that's the most logical explanation😄
I understand that completely!
I have the 458 win and a ton of brass so I can't come up with reason to change it. Also have 2 375 h&h but I'm temped to ackley one of them

In a standard weight rifle the Lott is pretty brutal to shoot from the bench. I am not particularly recoil sensitive and weigh around 210 lbs. The Lott was fired twice from the bench before I added over 1lbs. of lead to it and a 16 oz. recoil reducer. It still has over 60 lbs. of recoil, but much more tolerable than the 88 it had when it weighed 9.5 lbs. It kicked so hard it was comical. I still use the Lott when I want to lure one of my buddies into getting man card by firing it from the bench- most will only do it once lol.

An Ackley 375 is essentially a Wby without the Wby shoulder. Mine is very accurate; 300 gr. A-frames at around 2700 fps; pretty reliable 3/4 MOA rifle with a 1x 6 scope and heavy duplex reticle.
