Over the past 25 years, going back to the GPS 12, I have found Garmin products to be very high quality. Have had a few of thier fish finders, GPS'S and dog collars, and can't recall a bad one.
So, I am willing to pay at least some premium for the name. My hope is that these other units are good and at least keep Garmin honest with pricing.

Already have a garmin and it's sweeeeet. Oh well. Well see if it stacks up to its competition.

I paid 500 for the Garmin when they first came out. Best $ ever spent.
I like my athlon stuff. But you won't see me giving up a garmin to save a few hundred no matter how many say it's "as good". Garmin earned my $$ with a first to market innovative product that has been as perfect as a product can be. For me it's some of the best reloading $ I've spent.
