Glad you made it through and on your way to recovery, Old Rooster!
Successful recovery is simply a mental PT exercise as well. If you put "your mind" to it, there is no doubt recovery will go faster and your quality of life will return faster.19 days since surgery and not much pain anymore. The pain pills don't work anymore so I rely on the Ice Machine and man I love that machine!
Not a lot of pain after 1st week. Just when I try to sleep.
The P T lady said Friday that I am miles ahead of others that had knee surgeries around the same time as I always do more reps than everybody else.
I stopped using the walker at the end of 2 weeks and used the cane for a while and now I only use the cane is when I walk a long walk like in Costco or Walmart.
Like others I found that the first week is tough but after that it gets better.
All have a great day.
Glad to hear that you are recovering nicely. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to hearing a report on your 6.5 loads once you are able to get out.19 days since surgery and not much pain anymore. The pain pills don't work anymore so I rely on the Ice Machine and man I love that machine!

It's real good to hear it's going well for you. I always found with my back that the first 4 days were the worst. Your recovery sounds a lot more like my wife's. She worked her butt off rehabbing and it helped. When I was cripple with my back I couldn't walk 40 yards without a cane but I would use a shopping cart in the stores. Worked better than a walker. Did your surgeon do a block? My surgeon will not use them. He says he's run into complications with them fairly often. My surgery is scheduled for March 10th but they feel like they can get me during the 1st week of February. I'm really hoping they can.19 days since surgery and not much pain anymore. Sounds like you are doing extremely well. I don't like therapy but if I have to do it I'll put everything into it I can.On December 30, I will be 4 weeks since surgery and hardly any pain anymore. Some discomfort but no pain.
Sleep was hard to come by but the secrete for me was Ice machine in the evening, Volterran Gel on the back of the knee and ham string, Note: DO NOT GET ON INCISION! I didn't but the warning was given to me. After the Gel dries I put a pillow under the covers and elevate my knee and got the best sleep since surgery.
I was at 105 degree's knee rotation last Thursday and getting better. P T Doc says I am at 8 week exercises and doing better than anyone she has ever treated so far but she has only been doing this for 9 years so someone may out pace me one day.
Still can not walk very far before I get sore but she said that will come. I walk around our yard every day several times to build stamina and it's helping.
Thanks for all the encouragement.
