Just purchased a Revic BR4, and a question popped up that I could not find an answer to: does the AMR mode in the BR4 take the ballistic profile into account, or is it purely a measurement of horizontal distance?

Hoping someone can answer this and/or point me to an explanatory source.

Thanks,
RW

I confirmed that no ballistic profile is used in AMR mode.
The LOS range would be the Hypotenuse, while the AMR would be represented by the adjacent leg in this image. You would use AMR Mode with a bow or a rifle with no BDC turret to get a better shoot to solution.

This is from the BR-4 online manual: "AMR" is the Angle Modified Range mode. This range output will display the Modified Range due to shot inclination. The display will also show the Degrees of Inclination in the lower-left corner of your display.

For use when you do not have ballistic data to build a profile. For instance, when providing range information to another shooter who does not use a ballistic calculator. It is also handy for determining slope angle.
