tight nylon brush on a drill for a few seconds polishes the carbon.
I've been making one pass in and out of the neck with a nylon brush. Is it necessary to rotate a nylon brush in the neck for several seconds?

True. It sorts out good, from not so good. Outside of competition is where it gets really hard to sort out. There isn't much to back up what the myriad opinions you'll get for 1 single issue. My favorite thing about competition is that "opinions" get validated.
X-2I take some fine scotch Brite and spin the outside of the necks a little with it to get the carbon off the outside before FL sizing
ShoNuffAll your doing cleaning the inside of your cases is washing the best case lube there is off the inside of your necks.
Theres 15 firings on that brass as of now and it could go another 100. I treat all my hunting cartridges the exact same way. The only other thing I ad is to trim on occasion if need be. We pay pretty close attention to the details.
Well, if you get careless it certainly could be.Hey John, I would think "boomatory" would be BAD description for a reloading room, ha ha.
Take Care, Rick
I need to bookmark this and watch it every time I am about to throw a bunch of money at an annealer.
There are brass anealers and then there are BRASS CASE ANEALERS this is a never ending conversation. If you are happy with what you purchased OK. I see so many flame annealers that end up selling their flame and go to induction. check if you do it right with flame stay with it, but induction is in a whole different league.I use a 24.00 propane torch, Lee hand case trimmer base, cordless drill.
About 3 seconds at the tip of the blue cone, quench, "Next!".
As well as it works and as cheaply as it gets the job done I'd have a hard time justifying anything else. It's also pretty quick, about 20 seconds or a little less per case. There are brass anealers and then there are BRASS CASE ANEALERS this is a never ending conversation. I never clean my brass unless it's gotten filthy like they do sometimes in my prs matches. But then I only use corn cob mediaAll your doing cleaning the inside of your cases is washing the best case lube there is off the inside of your necks.
