largest case per caliber choice?

i only jumped on the manbun wagon because it's a 26cal, then found a 260rem. i have very few bolt guns and any short action w/ .473ish face i have is in an ar (243win, 6.5creed, 260rem, 7-08rem & 308win so far). anything larger than 30cal in a 308win/creed type/similar case, i'll pass. maybe do a 277fury (65k max) in an ar with up to 150's?
I live in Canada so a suppressor may be out of the question anyway. I always wanted to try one though. I do not like muzzle brakes, too load!

depending on the style/shape of brakes they can be loud and ineffective or moderate and effective. reason brakes seem loud is how the pressure is redirected. linear (forward facing) fight against the noise by directing it forward and can reduce some felt recoil. the "pepper pot" style (holes going radial/360*) are a good 2nd choice that give decent lower recoil and less noise (just not very good when shooting prone). best brake i've used that reduces recoil and doesn't increase/redirect noise is lantac dragon. best at keeping the muzzle flat is ultradyne. i have close to 100 brakes of different styles and types that i've tried on various barrel lengths and cartridges of various calibers (short action cartridges, short mags and long action magnums) (no long action .473 base). some are silly designs and some actually are effective.

I'll say that the smaller the bore with same capacity brass you waste powder as there's more existing pressure.

Waste is subjective, take a 150 weight bullet in 308, 7mm, .277 or 6.5 and stuff it in a wsm brass. Each step down, depending on the step gradient probably loses 50 to 100fps.

Some could call that a loss, as you loose fps. However look at the b.c. of those bullets. Not a loss if your bucking wind at distance.

A 150 30 cal bullets a ballistic turd compared to a 6.5 150 grain bullet. If I'm in heavy brush likely to pummel a peninsula moose at bow range I'd take the faster 150 from the 300.. but put me in montana on the wide open wind and im going to grab the 6.5 wsm and a long skinny bullet.

I was talking more about 22 and 24cals, but it is what it is.

Waste can be subjective for sure as much as "1 man's trash is another man's treasure "?

All I need is a 27cal 308 based case and I'll have a quadruplet to try the 150 class bullets. Unless there's a 140 in 30cal?
