kahles or tanget theta

I agree with most of what has been said. Kahles' performance is not in line with a $3k+ scope. Buying a used Kahles in the low $2k range is a good choice. Same with ATACR, knock off about 30% of retail and they are a good choice. The ZCO overall package is better than the Kahles or ATACRs that I own/have owned. The optical performance of the ZCO is a step-up. The turrets & controls on my Kahles were very good, and the left-side windage is a great feature, but ZCO is still a little better overall. The ATACR controls are definitely a step down. Tangent Theta turrets are hands down the best. Tangent optical package is slightly better than ZCO IME. Tangent controls are basically perfect. Tangent needs to step up their reticle game.

A used Kahles or ATACR are the budget driven choices. ZCO/Tangent are the performance oriented choices. For a lightweight backpacking scope, the 3-15 marksmen or hunter is the way to go. For a do-all scope, I think the 4-20 ZCO is the choice to beat.

Kahles doesn't complete in this price range.
What price range? The 525 he inquired about is easily mid to low 2k, lightly used or even new in box. It certainly competes at that price, it's probably actually unbeatable at that price range.

MSRP maybe, but not on the forums...not even close. And for $3500, I'm buying a used TT. A few posted recently for that on some forums, just MOA and the wrong reticle. But anyone who's paying $3500 for a kahles 525 is paying aboht $1k too much
Where do you think used optics come from?? used optic market is so strong because there are people ( the majority ) who are buying them new.!
by all means wait and buy used you will find one eventually.

If someone chooses to spend $3500 MSRP on a 525 that can be found either lightly used or mounted and unfired for below $2500, that's on them. I'd be willing to bet most folks aren't paying MSRP on any scope, even new from a dealer, most if not all places have discounts well below MSRP...except maybe ZCO.

Nope. Even the dealers that sell ZCO sell below the MSRP. If you find a dealer that isn't, move on cause the rest do. Usually 200-300 under.

$3449.00 5-25i kahles moa moak is the price is the price... ( I Guess rounding up to cover all bases for options was to much ) its across the board on every single sight that one can purchase optics from some may give "deals" or free shipping but it is what it is!
So if that's the case and your saying that people are not paying that price ... places like CS tacical, Eurooptic, camerland, sport optics etc. are going bankrupt because no one buys them new anyway !! Gotcha

For me Kahles glass sucked compared to my NF Atacr or my Vortex Razor. I can't imagine it would fair well against a TT or ZCO. I would look at March.
The OP was never compatimg Kahles to ZCO...he was comparing Kahles to NF. That's strange, my kahles 624 glass was better than my S&B PMII...better turrets too

Crazy how everyone sees through glass differently and how sample variations are all over. Like I've mentioned. Of all the ATACR's I have and Kahles (there's a lot) , not 1 NF has better glass than any of my Kahles. We all just see things differently. Find what works for you.

Actually he was comparing Kahles to TT.....I posted my experience based on what I own. The Kahles isn't even in the same class as the TT or ZCO that I have looked through.

Agreed.....I posted based on my personal experience and stated as much.
