In that price range, being that you want to hunt and shoot long distance, its worth giving March a look. Glass/mechanics every bit as good as the NF, and weighs quote a bit less than both the NF and the TT. Lower profile turrets are great if you pack hunt or walk a lot. If you can find one locally go look through one. I have almost sold my March scope a few times over the years, but every time I changed my mind when I compared it to my other scopes.

I agree. For me I put my money into emerging technologies because that's what interest me. And I just can't afford 3-5k on a scope every 2-3 years. Therefore I've been using Sig Sauer BDX SCOPES and pairing these scopes to my Garmin Fortrex 701 for firing solutions beyond 800M. I've also recently bought a SigSauer Tango4 for LR coyote hunting. I think it's the best mid priced scope given all the features it has. But that's for another discussion that's already happened I'm sure.
If I could afford it I'd likely by the TT. For 3 reasons:
First it's in my backyard. I live in NB Canada and TT is a NS (Nova Scotia) Co. about 4 hrs away. Second their turrets are 2nd to none. Finally I've got more Time on that scope then the others in the top 5. NF included. As a retired CAF member of over 31yrs. I've had many many opportunities to handle and manipulate many scopes. Especially during sniper concentration competitions held here in NB (New Brunswick) Canada. All the big five are usually represented there. All the different militaries seem to find things they like on other scopes then their own. So I guess there is no perfect scope.
So to the OP. No matter which you choose. I'm sure you'll be happy until you try that next of the top 5 scopes.
And I'll be jealous regardless.

I completely agree with you. The Tangent is probably the best tracking scope on the market as well as the glass and adjustments. I purchased my first Nightforce NXS with the NP-R1 reticule when they first came out in 2009 when I went to a gun show and watched a Nightforce rep demonstration on them. It took about 7-8 months to receive it and I was hooked but my wallet wasn't as at that time I didn't have a rifle I had spent over a thousand dollars on but this changed shortly after as I started my first custom build. A year later I bought my farm near Nightforce Headquarters. I now own 7 various Nightforce scopes with my last one being an ATACR 7 X 35 X 56 on my 338RUM. Other than being able to get quick service, it doesn't mean much, as you can't buy any optics directly from them. At my age now, I need to start eliminating some of my safe queens and enjoy the money instead of having my grandchildren sell them after I am gone.

All jokes aside I had a tasco world class on a 270 over 20 years ago that I shot a bunch of deer with. I wondered for the first couple of years of ownership if the yellow tint in the glass was supposed to be some sort of light gathering enhancement. After all, it was supposed to be a world class optic. It fit my budget at the time and done what I needed it to do until I could afford an expensive optic like a Simmons .

Everything doesn't have to be deadly serious. We are so fortunate to be arguing about whether a $2500 scope is good enough or you need a $4000 one. Count your blessings!

Amen brother. I've got a $1700 cronus and I routinely ask myself" do I really need a $1700 scope?" It's an awesome scope no doubt. I give away two rifles last week. I got a lot more gratification out of that than getting something for myself. I've heard that giving something to someone is the most selfish thing you can do because of the fulfillment you will get from it. I'm beginning to think that's true.

You are correct selling a rifle brings lets say 1000 dollars giving it away will bring 10 times that in joy and not just for you but another fellow as well and I believe it just keeps rolling from there

I saw two grown young men who didn't have the means to get into hunting & shooting have to turn around to hide the tears in their eyes after I gave them a scoped rifle. If that don't give you a good feeling, nothing will.

If I HAD to give up my Hensoldts & slum around with a lesser scope, the 27oz Tangent Theta 315LRH in mil/mil would be my first pick.

Oh yeah - I neither drive a KIA nor a Mercedes; just an old, tired longbed pickup.
