Go back a couple of pages and you'll see that I voluntarily dropped out of this thread because viewers wouldn't input into the thread and it ended up as a almost monologue on my part. djones, would input whenever he was available or could, but he cannot hunt 24/7 and has another life including a family and full time job to do, which left large gaps in the thread which I tried to fill with extraneous stories and derogatory remarks and kidding of djones efforts. Fortunately, he didn't take them as personal attacks.
While I have a lot of stories I could tell, posting without input back was sort of like talking into an empty 55 gallon drum, and I personally, never knew for sure if I was on the right track or not. All that was coming back on my part was echo's and Mr. Jones would post and there was absolutely no input from the majority of the viewers. It seemed to tell us the reason people weren't posting was that because of the way djones and I interacted, they were intimidated by our, not quite, attacks at each other, all meant to be in fun.
With a total of over 19,000 views, there were exactly 7 members that posted to the site during the entire life of the thread. Some like Coy Franks and Brewer posted multiple times, but again, they have lives to lead and couldn't keep up, whereas as a retiree, I have all day to review in my mind what to post or distort from djones posts. We (I) kind of expected other pictures of hogs, yotes, etc, or comments aside from mine and several regulars, about the hogs shown, but it just didn't happen!
Even since we stopped posting, there have only been 2 new member postings, (Brewer is excluded as a regular) yours and codyjoes, so apparently no one seems to really care that we stopped posting on this Thread. Oh well! No one even requested that djones post pictures of those massive long range hogs he got on his last trip per his request on the previous page!
No matter what you do, everyone needs some kind of feedback to tell if they are on the right track or not. We do what we do because we enjoy it, but there is nothing that says we have to share it with the public at large. I will continue to write and djones will continue to hunt, and we are content in that, by and in itself.
Will see what happens.
