For pure ballistic superiority and a good balance of loading to magazine length I would go with 28Nosler and not look back. The new high BC 180 eld match and the Berger 195 EOL hybrid make this cartridge almost perfect for any long range duty. Comparing the 195 in a 28 nosler to a 215 in a 300 win mag the 28 arrives at 1000 yds with 210fps more velocity and 200ft lbs more energy. I have owned several 300win mags and killed deer and elk with them, but the new case design of the nosler is just better. Less body taper, sharper shoulder angle, no belt, higher case capacity, longer neck these things add up to make about the perfect long range cartridge. And the super high BC 7mm projectiles are just more practical than the heavier 215gr /230gr .308 choices.
