How to make Savage 110 Action less sloppy

Hey, have you tried polishing the bolt and the raceway? Sometimes just a bit of smoothing can help reduce friction. Also, make sure everything is properly lubricated. If that doesn't work, you might want to check the alignment and make sure the bolt isn't binding anywhere.

No. When the bolt is in the most rear position and then pushed forward, it binds and is not a smooth throw to force the round into the chamber

Savage is a great action, self alignment.

The alignment is the issue when the bolt is in the rear position and trying to push another round into the chamber. It gets hung up on the sides of the raceway

That is exactly what I experienced and was explaining in post #8.
The ones I experienced were the Ultralight models.

Mine is a 110 BA

A new 110 can be pretty rough and grabby. My boys literally sat and watched TV and worked them forward and backward literally about 1000 times in one evening. They lubed and cleaned, lubed and cleaned.
Made them smooth and work properly. The large tactical bolt handle seem to be the worst about it, more leverage to torque it out of alignment and make it grab.

Okay, so the Savage 110 action isn't as smooth as snot. Remember that it is one of the most accurate shooting out of the box factory rifle available at a very reasonable price. It isn't first choice for a fast draw multi shot encounter. Use it's accuracy and your marksmanship ability to make the first shot count. Problem solved. You're welcome!
