I weighed out my 100 box of 6.5mm ELD-X today

I got an average of 142.941 grains
A Standard Deviation of 0.257
25 were exactly 143 grains
37 were within .2 grains

Is this about what to expect from hornady match stuff? Do other brands have tolerances that are better or worse?

About the same has been my experience.
I also measure the bearing surface of each bullet and group them accordingly.
The ELD and ELD-X are in that group. In fact the 10 boxes of 143's I measured were better than the last bunch of 140 Bergers I got.

Now what do you use to measure the bearing surface precisely? I imagine calipers wouldn't be very consistent with no good place to hold on a curved surface.

Bob Green comparator. One of the best reloading tools made. IMO.

Have searched numerous websites for 30 caliber 212gr. ELD-X's ...I finally found them "in stock" at Sportsman's Warehouse...for those who are interested ...other weights are available too.

As explained to me in this thread the 212 is for mags that don't have a Cartridge overall length limitation. The 220 is for the mags that do have limitations.

I've been shooting the 162 Amaxes in a 7 mag for a couple years now and they are very accurate to 850 yds ( max distance at our range) just got the 162 ELD Ms in and loaded some. Shot several groups out to 600 with same dope as used for Amaxes. They shot very close to exactly the same. All shot sub moa but Amaxes were better accuracy wise. (.5 moa and better) May have been that I cleaned my Barrel just prior to shooting ELDs which I don't do very often (4-500 rds) as accuracy falls off for the 1st--? Rounds after a thorough cleaning.
I just read entire thread on ELDs and thought I would add my 2 cents. I appreciate all the valuable info you guys have shared.
After previewing this reply I realized I wasn't replying to the post I intended to. It was a question about anyone comparing the 162 amax to eld. Decided to post it here anyway!
