regarding SAUM's:

"I had a bit of a drive yesterday and called Remington. After 30 minutes of transfer and hold time I spoke with a very nice gentleman who said that they would be making a seasonal run of all in the second quarter of the year - both brass and loaded ammunition"

Have a 7 saum in the works now. Gun is in paint. Waited for almost 1 year to gather ADG saum brass for the gun. Worth the weight.

This is a very interesting thread to me, as I recently ordered up a new barrel and DIDN'T go the SAUM route. I'd absolutely love to build up a 7 SAUM, but the availability of brass was ultimately why I talked myself out of it. Kind of a chicken and egg thing, right? I'd build one and buy brass if it was available, but they aren't making brass maybe because perceived demand is so low? And the demand appears low because people are afraid there won't be supply in the future.....and so the downward spiral goes? I've been thinking that if I saw brass available I'd just suck it up and buy 300 pieces and then build a rifle up in the future.

Good to know, I put my email on their notifications after I left my reply above! Gotta put my money where my mouth is now....and if I've got $$$ invested in brass, I HAVE to build a new rifle to use it, right?

I have owned 3 - 7mm SAUM's over the years. My Model 7 SAUM is a killing machine. It has taken Elk, Deer Antelope and Aoudad. Lightweight, easy to carry and deadly on game. It's a great cartridge! DD62 ,
