This is my experience. Some rifles wouldn't shoot to my expectations.... I now only keep rifles that shoot .5 MOA or better. Never had a regret selling any that shot worse than that. I've sold a few that shot real well and regret it. I've learned my lesson. Never know when you need a spare rifle.

That's true. I could cull out the ones that didn't perform and add later when I find some others that meet expectations.
IMO, personal needs and preferences seem to evolve over time. Add to that, the technology advances in equipment, many of my shooters of 10+ years ago bear little resemblance to those used today. If my current rifles used for PRS competition or LR hunting were offered to me 15 years ago I would have laughed! At any point in time, 20% of my rifles are used 80% of the time. Whether to sell rifles or not seems to be driven by a combination of attachment and financial needs. While I have generally chosen to not sell my rifles(and other firearms), in hind-sight, it was not always the wisest decision. After 45 years of shooting, I have many rifles(firearms) that have spent years in the safe. The market has moved on and, other the few of sentimental or nostalgic value, they have become dust collectors of diminished value.

If I could talk myself into selling rifles I wouldn't own 20 plus of them.
About all I manage to do is to occasionally give one away to someone special in my life.
To me they are like fine art. If I ever get desperate enough to need the money they are there and never lose their value but I haven't gotten that desperate quite yet.

I've sold in the past, and it's been a regret. Now, I hoard as many as I can buy. If I have to one day part with them, it will be because they'll go to my kids. But, as another poster was saying, do a culling if you feel the need. Otherwise, is there any harm in keeping them, even if they do get dusted up?

I'm going to start using "stashed" when I find myself "finding" things I forgot where I put them.

Possibly the best way to resolve the "Do I need a bigger safe" question. Take simeone shooting, and send the firearm home with them.

I think the general consensus is one I agree with. I'll probably post them for sale here when I get enough posts, but if they don't sell then I'll play with them more.

When i was younger and lived for the moment(single no wife or kids) i would sell a gun if i needed money, seemed someone always was looking for a new gun. Looking back now i wish i kept a lot of them but i was having a lot of fun at the time.

Preaching to the choir! Sold a lot of them trying to pay for a wedding, setting up a house, down payments on cars...I tell you what...never again.
