That's great! When I was a kid my neighbor used to hunt black bear with hounds and 22 Magnum pistol. All head shots. I thought it was insane but he never had an issue. Killed one of the largest black bears in California back in 1987. It was 476 lbs or something crazy. Half the football team went up and helped drag it out. 22 mag pistol.

That's been my caliber of choice for the same and lions. Ruger Single Nine in 22 mag. Now back to WTH Hammers.
So with all the assumptions do we think there is a pattern showing up? Or will we be seeing more of this in the near future?

Agreed. The seed on discussing a real concern has been planted, whether this particular instance in the OP was a true occurrence or not.

Boy, sure would have though we would have seen it by now with as many as our group has put through deer, elk, and bear from 22 cal to 30 cal? Odd?
Like you said everyone has different expectations, IMO at this level of premium projectiles we shouldn't even be having this conversation but yet here we are

Went to reloader 26 91/2 primer and a 22 in barrel on this rifle and it hooked up
