Really I've always been a fan of nightforce I've shoot couple rifles with them that friends have and there worth what they cost in my book for sure

I have not used the LRP. I have run the Mark 4 and 6.5-20x50 VX3, and the 5HDs and they performed very well for me. I have not had the need for another scope with those features, but want to give one a run just to see how they are.

I have an LRP except it is in 6.5-20 FFP/CCH reticle on my .264 WM (https://www.longrangehunting.com/threads/my-budget-264-wm.238814/). It exceeded my expectations thus far.

By the way, if your scope stadia lines are calibrated for highest magnification (say 24 pwr) going back to half that value (12×) simply doubles the value of your stadia lines. You're not locked in to only max magnification!

Im very pleased with my Nightforce SHV. I also have some Leupolds, some low end Bushnells, a Nightforce ATACR, a Zeiss conquest MC. So pretty much low to high. The SHV I think was a good combo of price and features with good glass. Not great glass but good. Good turrets. Will certainly buy another.

Lots of people will hate on Leupold, or Vortex, or pick a brand. Some clunkers out there for sure, but if you stick with the main recommendations you will get an adequate scope. Learn what you like and don't like and be better informed for purchases down the line.

Best value imo In a new scope is a sightron stac. They make a ffp with zero stop now too.

I like Nikon and have an older Nikon ucc and it's really good but I wouldn't recommend Nikon because they aren't going to make scopes anymore. I don't know what they're gonna do about warranty work and wouldn't want to find out.
You might want to look at the Athlon scopes. Their optics are as good or better than anything in the same class and cost less. I have a viper pst gen ii 5-25x50 and a Athlon Midas Tac 5-25x56. IMO the Athlon is the better of the two. The Athlon has a 56mm objective lens, 34mm tube and 32 mils of elevation. The viper has 50mm objective,30mm tube and only 20mils of elevation adjustment. My Athlon is crystal clear, brighter and can adjust to an elevation that allows me to hit targets several hundred yards farther away than my viper. That extra elevation is important. Optics are best when you aren't at the maximum level of adjustment. The viper cost me about $200 more than my Athlon. My viper does have an illuminated reticle whereas my Athlon doesn't. I don't use it but that might be important to you. My viper is a darn fine scope. I just believe my Athlon is a bit better. You can't go wrong with either one though. They both have awesome warranties and will give you many years of service. Good luck and happy shooting

I've looked at those few times only thang is I started researching them and have found alot of bad reviews on them lately so not sure.ive looked at arken and Nikon fx1000 as well

It's very difficult to beat the features and reliability of Bushnell Elite scopes.
The XRS II 4.5 - 30 x 50 has HD glass and a choice of Horus reticles (and yes, locking turrets).
Not a cheap date at $1,900. from Optics Planet but for the money few can match it.

Whatever you get I recommend one-piece scope ring mounts from a quality company like LaRue or Nightforce.

Has anybody used an Arken scope? They have a lifetime warranty that includes adjustment accuracy. Also has zero stop, FFP and MIL, Japanese glass for what thats worth. They do have an MOA option as well. Each scope is tested when it arrives to verify the windage/elevation adjustments are accurate. I like the SHR reticle because it doesn't have too much going on. Most of their scopes are priced at 600, but the one I was looking at was 349, currently out of stock.
