Glock 20 and Brown Bear

Doubletap 200 grainers are a good bullet as well. If you roll your own the 200 grain WFNGC from beartooth bullets is the best bullet hands down for the 10mm. Get ready to wait a few months for your order though as they cast them to fill your order. Load either to 1200-1250fps with either longshot or blue dot and you have some bad bear medicine that is accurate as well. Longshot has a smaller fireball than blue dot if you need less flash.

For hunting I use my 7.5" 454 Casull with 360WLNGC @ 1500fps but use the G20 for defense when I'm not carrying my guide gun in 416RUM.

I have lots of Longshot. I have some 350 gr. Beartooth's for 460 and I forget weight of others. One is gas checked. Haven't used in years. I might be wrong on weight. Both are 300 plus grains.

If it's for your 460 I wouldn't be surprised if it's their 340LFNGC. It's their most accurate bullet they make for the big 45's. I will switch to these once my supply of cast performance 360's is done.

I'll check this morning. I have some loaded up but never tested. I have a box of 20 Buffalo Bore that I bought in 2017. Never shot one of them 🙄 I forget their weight also...

These are what I found.

I don't think I'd use the HSM 250 gr. Hardcast in my 460. Maybe 454 but I'd prefer a gas check. May be good in a hot 45 Colt load ?

See…this right here is why these forums are a danger to my wallet. It re-enforces why I need a g20 when I know I don't really need one and can really do without one but have been drooling over one for quite some time.

They just released a Gen 5.... perfect timing to get one.

This is what I carry too but mainly because it shoots flawlessly in my G20 and underwood recommends it over their hardcasts for bear protection. I have tried kkm barrel, every recoil and magazine spring weight you can think of, plus keeping it factory, 200 underwood, 220 underwood, 220 buffalo bore and still get a malfunction every now and then. I have shot hundreds of extreme penetrators and not a single malfunction. I think most people buy a couple boxes of hardcast and if they can shoot a box without a malfunction call it good but I can't do that. I have to shoot at least a couple hundred without a single problem before I will trust my life with it.

Speaking of 10mm and penetration, I think many have seen this, but... perhaps a few haven't, it's interesting and adds a little something to the conversation, it's the round that I carry most of the time in

If you hunt here, carry a pistol . Preferably one with some punch. I carry Glock 20 , not my Springfield XDM 10mm though just because of the grip safety. Also Glock 20 is more accurate with same ammo. I thought about carrying my 460 S&W or 454 Cassul but too heavy and barrels too long. I'd definitely wrather have those 2 cartridges though. My other choice was a Super Blackhawk 44 mag. It's not heavy to me but it does have a 7.5 in. barrel. I'd need to get a shoulder holster for it. I use a Gunfighter for the Glock 20. I like it.

Good choice G20 very popular here in Alaska.
My G20 makes my 3rd one since Glock introduced the 10mm. Suggest Underwood Hardcast 200/220gr their velocity is accurate in 5" so it will be alittle less in G20. Most 220gr coated Hardcast are 213gr by weight without gas check. I prefer the 220gr (213gr) weight.
Do you reload the 10mm ?
I do moose hunt mostly alone so at night and after a kill my head is on a swivel and the G20 on my chest and 12Ga comes out with Breneke Original slugs and rifle gets cased while quartering .
