Gas

Ok I gotcha. While Jim continues to try and Gaslight and spread propaganda, you're opposing his views so others hopefully see more than just his views.

I guess maybe I'm giving our fellow LRH members too much credit to be able to see through all the stink? But good on you nonetheless for staying engaged and sticking to your convictions, hold fast.

I recognize the liberal talking points early on (very easy to see) and know their agenda, so I try not to be baited. It's always the same old show, different channel.
That's the reason I do it. I agree seems a lot of the same old talking points. It's hard to see how someone doesn't see how supply and demand works. Even if a little bit. 1 percent for a single pipeline 7-10 percent for Russian oil. It all adds up to tons of oil. It's like these dumb dumbs in Michigan trying to close a full open pipeline because it may have an issues sometime in some future. This we should close it down for the environment. Then we will transport it with trucks that burn fossil fuels at a high rate. Thus by trying to save the earth from some maybe oil pipeline. We will now add millions of tons of the super deadly earth ruining carbon. The lack of larger scale thinking of these people is amazing. It's like they can't see past the end of there own nose.

snox, I think he's just 'jerkin' your chain"! He's arguing and disagreeing just for the sake of an argument! In his mind he stays "relevant" by disagreeing , arguing, and posting falsehoods (like it'd take years to complete 'the' pipeline).
Indeed, but it keeps me busy. Plus it lets me know even though I sometimes feel like the dumbest person on this internet I just look at these post and realize. I'm good!

So you are telling me getting the government out of the way and allowing free markets would bring cost down and drive some oil companies out of business? That's the market and that's what should happen and the market would stabilize.
When was the government ever out of the way?

Again, the pipeline that isn't complete would transport less than 1% of oil which is low grade oil that we don't use in this country, Russia produces 10% or more of oil today. Its a cherries and watermelons comparison. They aren't even remotely similar. If Biden announced they were allowing the pipeline to continue, it would drop the price of oil by a couple of dollars a barrel and then bounce back up in a few days. If everyone including the US were to announce they were going to buy Russian oil again, oil would drop $20 a barrel or more and stay there.

You keep saying that and I'm not disagreeing with you but my point is it's simple supply and demand. 1 percent here 1percent somewhere else it all adds up. Just like gas prices .10 here then another got us to this point. We have plenty of energy at home and we should use it. Yes it's one pipeline but again how many 1 percent things stopped? Plus the investors that now want nothing to do with investing in energy because of this current administration and former Vice President joe Biden.

A pipeline does not produce energy nor is the oil that would be pumped through it our oil so it does not count as our energy. Also, it is dirty and we won't use it. We do have plenty at home but someone has to get it out of the ground. The government is not stopping them. They are choosing not to. Investors care about money, period. They are intelligent enough to know that administrations are temporary. They are not going to stamp their feet and lose money because Joe Biden is mean. They are making record profits under Joe Biden. For some reason people think when an industry just about goes bankrupt, its just going to go back to business as usual. No need for changing their business models seeing as it worked so well for them

"So you are telling me getting the government out of the way and allowing free markets would bring cost down and drive some oil companies out of business? That's the market and that's what should happen and the market would stabilize."

This is the market stabilizing after 632 companies going bankrupt and the big oil companies recording a combined loss of $80 billion.

Also, Canada has their own pipeline they are working on which is supposed to be complete next year. Its called the trans mountain pipeline.

Not ever really but it was clear that they didn't try and hold things up while trump was In office they pushed the pipeline and drilling. Remember his drill baby's drill?
In other words, he did not do anything to get out of the way. He encouraged more drilling. Who have the prospered more under? Trump who encouraged them to drill or mean ole Joe Biden.

I can't imagine that the oil execs are stupid enough to try and keep gas prices this high fi they have the option to produce more, and lower costs for their consumers. $5+ a gallon will just push people towards electric cars, which is surely not what they want. I'm not in the market for any cars right now, but when I am, if gas is still this high or higher, good chance the wife will be driving something with batteries instead of a gas tank.

Nope he did. Remember his policy of for every new regulation two had to be removed. Many of those were in the oil industry and made it easier. Even if he didn't do anything but encourage. That's still something. I've stayed it before but you seem to ignore it. When investors feel worried they don't invest. So when one guy says drill they know the government isn't gonna come in and step on them. The other takes office and keeps saying he wants to end fossil fuels. Which one would you invest your money into oil for?

Correct but what it does do is transfer oil. Also saves thousands of gallons by not needing to burn fuel at 6mpg to move a single tanker truck so it does many things that help. Can f they didn't we would have never used them. If they don't work why did Biden ok nordstream 2.
Guy is a walking contradiction .

The last time I paid over $5 for diesel was back when our current president was actually mentally present and his handler was the president!! I paid $5.26 tonight on my way home from work just north of Fort Worth. And it's just going to get worse.

Do yall remember when oil was trading at negative dollars a barrel? That was Russia getting in a "****in' match" with OPEC.
Yall realize that fuel prices went up.....way up before any country started to sanction Russian oil. Way before the invasion of Ukraine. The world Bank stopped all business with Russia and the Russian economy fell. But do you hear about the Russians struggling......nope. Heck Russians are used to starving and doing without, it's like their national past time! Do you hear s*** about the war in Ukraine aside from a 30 sec quip on the nightly news...nope. Our US government gave billions of dollars to a country "who isn't part of nato partially because its the most corrupt country in Europe" for "defense". Imagine if that cheddar went into drilling or developing cleaner ways to use fossil fuels. H*** just cut every American CITIZEN an equal check if you want to do some good.

For Pete's sake nobody needs to get booted from LRH for having a different view on the cause of our current fuel crisis. Last thing we need is to start fighting amongst the 2a community.

My beloved homeland, the beautiful state of TEXAS could supply this struggling nation for DECADES on the energy WE produce alone!!!!! Don't know why we would do such a thing...but we could! I swear to the old gods and the new that id thought I'd never see so many wind turbine and solar farms cover up deer and quail habitat in my lifetime! I've seen that light sweet crude come out of the ground and helped get it there! I toured Comanche peak nuclear power plant with my boy scout troop as a kid.

Bring back nuclear!!
Make coal cleaner!
Get off some other countries teet for our dino juice!!!
Build an oil refinery in this century instead of relying on facilities built back when Nolan Ryan was pitching for the Astros! Stop giving away our country! Set term limits! Get some new blood in DC and get rid of these career politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle.

We are complaining about the cost of fuel at the gas pump.....what do think that milk hauler is doing? Wait until milk is $12 a gallon and flour is $20 a pound! Bought a pallet of deer corn 9 months ago for just under $400. Priced one today for $550!!

I now work in the trucking industry and owner/operators are parking their rigs at an absolutely alarming rate! 80% of everything you own was moved by an 18wheeler at some stretch of the journey. Make it to where the truckers can't afford to run and we will be up s*** creek without a paddle quick and in a hurry!! But I think that's what THEY want anyhow.

Sorry for the rant and thats just my 2 cents ..... which dang sure doesn't go as far as it did 20 months ago!

You win. I am tired of this conversation

Where do you suppose that electricity comes from? Here, it's generated using natural gas as the fuel to power those generators. Drilling has picked-up just a little, but not like it has in the past when prices spiked. About every oil well drilled here (Western Oklahoma) produces natural gas, also. If you can't get the permits for pipeline needed to transport that natural gas, just what are you, as the producer, do with it? You can't just release it into the atmosphere and the gov frowns on burning it off. And after all, it is part of the profit from that well, but you can't get it to the market now. The price of natural gas has been on the increase, right along with crude oil. That'll mean increased electric bills, and increased heating costs for those who heat with nat gas in the winter. Not to mention those batteries for EV and the raw materials they are made of come from China and other countries who aren't exactly 'friendly'. I have read that to change-out those batteries when they'll no longer take a charge cost from $2500 on the low end to $25,000 on the high end. Notice there's been little chatter about electric trucks (semi trucks).
