Didn't you read the sign on the gas pump you should be proud of these high pricesI am driving to south GA next week. 300whispers's post made my day.
I didn't realize that the oil companies were such big fans of BidenMidterms are coming so I'm sure we will see a magical price drop this fall. Seems to almost always happen. Gas will drop and we will see another big outbreak of covid juts in time for mail in ballots again.
I was thinking the same thing but after seeing how gas has risen so much in the last month, i dont think they'll do anything to produce more oil and be less dependent on foreign oil. it's our patriotic duty to stick it to russia, remember? the ruble has recovered from brandons sanctions and our gas is still $3.50+ in most places. joe has no idea what is going on, it's people behind the scenes that are actually making decisions.Midterms are coming so I'm sure we will see a magical price drop this fall. Does the government have some kind of magic wand that they can wave around and lower gas prices? People act like the government isn't letting oil companies produce more oil. It confuses me. The US oil companies have chosen not to produce more oil. The government has been begging them to produce more oil. I guess everyone thinks that the more oil an oil company produces, the more money they make. Oil was around $50 a barrel before the pandemic. What is the motivation of the oil companies to drive oil prices down to $50 a barrel? Don't they have to produce at least twice as much oil to achieve the same profits they are making off of $100 a barrel? If you did not have to, would you voluntarily cut your prices in half and produce twice as much to make the same money? I just don't see how the gas prices are somehow politically motivated.I was thinking the same thing but after seeing how gas has risen so much in the last month, i dont think they'll do anything to produce more oil and be less dependent on foreign oil. it's our patriotic duty to stick it to russia, remember? the ruble has recovered from brandons sanctions and our gas is still $3.50+ in most places. joe has no idea what is going on, it's people behind the scenes that are actually making decisions.
it doesnt have to be a wand, he can just use a pen like he did when he took office and started signing executive orders.Does the government have some kind of magic wand that they can wave around and lower gas prices? They are still giving out permits and there are enough permits out there to keep oil companies busy for the next 100 years. You don't think that possibly the fact that in 2020 632 independent oil companies went bankrupt and the big 5 oil companies had a combined loss of almost $80 billion had anything to do with it? You believe that if Biden were to rescind those policies and open back up the construction of the XL pipeline, it would cause the oil companies to produce twice as much oil to make the same profits they are today and drop the price of gas by a $1 a gallon and they just wouldn't worry about loosing their shirts again the next time supply far exceeds demand?it doesnt have to be a wand, he can just use a pen like he did when he took office and started signing executive orders.
Biden Makes Sweeping Changes to Oil and Gas Policy
The Biden administration has imposed a moratorium on new oil and gas leasing on public lands, rattling investors and producing states.www.csis.org
the democrats are committed to getting rid of fossil fuels the same way they are committed to getting rid of guns. they'll just make it too expensive for the average person to obtain through high costs and taxes.
it's like the NFA act of 1934. the $200 tax stamp was imposed to own some sort of device that the government deemed destructive. $200 in 1934 is $4200 today. in true government fashion, they've failed to keep up with the times and now $200 isnt that much.
biden is also proposing tax hikes on the oil industry. so the more they produce the more they pay. why would they want to invest more money in order to pay more taxes? the administration is using the conflict in ukraine and the oil companies to shift blame for this mess that they created.
i'm all for green energy but there is no infrastructure to support it right now. what this administration is doing is only hurting the poor who they claim to care so much about.
False.People act like the government isn't letting oil companies produce more oil. It confuses me. The US oil companies have chosen not to produce more oil.
Can you provide a link? I can't find anything about oil companies not being aloud the market their oilFalse.
Companies I deal with in west texas are on quota. They are keeping the "valve" only half open because they can't market more than they're producing now.
