Favorite deer rifle

I haven't used it in a few years, but my favorite deer rifle is a Ruger M77 MK2 270 win.

With deer season not far away it's time to dust off and shoot (OL PAINLESS) my 6.5 /06 shooting 143 Hornady ELDX AND RL 26
Of all of the guns in my gun safe this
Is my favorite
Very nice! My all time favorite gun and setup is:
Sig Sauer SSG3000 in .308
Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56
Accu-shot Atlas bipod
Self reloaded Hornady ELDX 212 gr

I am always reaching for my Kimber 8400 Select in 300WM even before I know which rifle I will be taking. I own 5 rifles in 300WM, plus my F-class rifle that has 3 300WM barrels.
It is my favourite cartridge closely followed by my 3 338WM rifles.
I also love my other rounds, but these get used as specialty tools for specific game I hunt, funny I know, just how I see it.

Cheers.

hmmm ... I have 3 favourites ... depending on location and what's gunna be in the sights.

Ruger 77/44;
Rem700 in .300 sav
Martini Cadet in .32 win spec.

Those little carbine Ruger 77s are really fun guns for short-range tight in shooting I have two of them and love the little critters, the 77/44 and 77/357 with Leupold M8 6X 42mm which are actually one of the best hunting scopes Leupold ever made in my mind, the combo of scope and rifle is amazing; lightweight, fast and accurate. Either one can take whitetail in fast flushing situations or up to the limit of the cartridges range. I also have one of Ruger's 77/22s just for kicks and it's a heck of a great little .22 RL I throw in a pic of it, for size comparison, those 77/44/357s are pretty compact.

I keep thinking about the one gun concept. I have so many now and not nearly enough time to shoot them all. Certainly not enough time to work up loads and give them the time they desperverse. I remember my younger days when my one center fire rifle was a rem 700 LH BDL 3006 I used it for everything from ground squirrels to elk. I just don't think I can part with them all though.
I was just sitting here thinking the same thing. I have several rifles that never get shot anymore. I really should trim down to 2-3 and give them the usage they deserve. I just haven't been able to convince myself to do so yet.

As stated in my previous post I have many rifles to choose from but over the past 3-4 years I consistently seem to grab my plain old boring .308. It's a Remington 700 5R Milspec 20" and it wears an old Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50 and it just shoots better than a factory rifle should. It loves 175 Berger VLDs and I have a Kenton knob made for that pet load.

my favorite has changed over the years. From 82 to about 05 was a 270 Winchester mod. 70.
05 to to current for deer and black bear has been 243 Ruger with 80gr GMX @3400fps his combo is lightning.
