Fast Twist 270 Win vs. 6.8 Western

My love for the 270 didn't happen recently. I have a Rem 700 bedded into a Bansner stock that is a true .5 gun with 130 Grain Accubonds. It however will not shoot anything above 130's very good. I've always wanted to go to heavier bullets but the 1-10 twist doesn't permit that in my gun. Just looking for real world velocity numbers with the heavies in an 8 twist 270 Win with a 24 inch pipe.
I have always shot a 270 as well i also use 130 grain i use the SSTs. I know what you're saying about wanting to use the heavier bullet for more down range power and accuracy cause our 1-10 twist will not stabilize the heavier bullet. But the good news is browning is now making a 1-7.5 twist long range hells canyon 24 inch barrel i have looked all the ballistics and down range power and it looks really good it has less drop than the 6.8 western and carries about the same punch equal or so with the 6.5 in drop but has more knock down. And as for comparing the 270 to the 7mm that's a laugh in it self the ballistics are really close with the old 270 and the 7 but there isn't a factory built 7mm that will consistently compete with the accuracy of a factory built 270.

IDK about the 7mm mag vs 270 accuracy wise. If there is a lower accuracy with a 7mm mag, it's because the shooters can't handle the recoil. I love my 270s but my Tikka 7mm magnum can shoot inside all my 270s. I don't shoot it much since building my 284s. Its really not much more rifle than a LA 284. I still shoot my 270s and they may be the best whitetail rifle I've ever used with the 130s. I think if you researched accuracy of the 270 vs 7mm mag, you might be surprised to find a different result.

The fast twist .270 I built surprised the heck out of me with 156HH with superb accuracy at 3250fps. The 156HH shot better the faster it was pushed.

I am actually thinking of changing throat to Serengeti bore rider to potentially adding little more velocity as crazy as it sounds. Or just building another faster twist 1:7 with the Serengeti bore rider reamer. I am starting to lean that direction. Recent 06 build with the Serengeti showing added velocity. It is kind of fun to see how much more can be squeezed out of standard cartridges like the .270 and 06. No special brass needed as added bonus.
