Encore 20 gauge barrel replacement for whitetail

a 450 Bushmaster kicks no more than a .410. I am always miffed when people start talking about .450 bushmasters being mules.... any other centerfire rifle cartridge...heck a .243 kicks harder than a .450 bushmaster.
so you made me go look
free recoil on a 450, 268gr is 22 ft-lb
on a 243, 103gr is 9

360 buckhammer.
Use the .358" bullets.
Or do a .357 max which uses a .357" bullet.
350L also uses a 357 and you have a lot more support/ease of finding ammo for the 350.
the buckhammer is as bad or worse than the 400L if op wants to reload.

btw, what part of south IN?

I built an Encore for a buddy and ordered a barrel from MGM, very accurate. He needed that cartridge for Illinois.

Good luck.

I liked rimmed cartridges in my single shots. It is pretty frustrating when the ejector starts slipping off the rim when breaking the gun open and having to use a key or screwdriver to get the casing out of the chamber.

For me, I would recommend the 357 Max. Pretty much the same performance as the 350L but in a rimmed cartridge.

357 Max is a great round, for this cartridge, Mike Bellm is all knowing, I think he might also have barrels/brass/dies in stock.

Thanks for all the good reading on this. Here's my update. Have picked up a CVA Scout V2 (stainless with muzzle brake) in 450 Bushmaster.
Now I'm trying to figure which scope to roll with.

I have pretty much all the straight wall rounds. I can say I can't remember the last time I grab or will grab the 450. Out of them I find myself grabbing the 350 legend loaded with the 125gr hammers. I've killed a decent amount of deer past 200. If you are not shooting past that then I wouldn't even look at another round.
