I have had the barrel throat ed for a Lapua case for 185 Berger and Berger 155 bullet do you have any good load for this.
The 6mmbr is throated for 105 Berger bullet do you have any loads for this one as well

Do you plan to buy a new custom rifle in the next 12 months?

Two projects in the works right now.

1) Upgrading a nice M-70 300wm sporter into an easy carry rifle I can count on out to 1,000yds @ or below 1 MOA.

2) Yet another 7mm STW on a 700 BDL action... .

The latter will probably be going into a Mc Swirly Hunter or A-3 Hunter next year. It will be a dedicated LR rig.

Im getting a Sheep gun built for next season its gonna be a .270 wsm 24" pacnore barrel defiance action mcmillan edge ultralight stock jewel trigger remington mag box. should come in just uner 8 lbs with scope and bipod.
The parts are in the process of being ordered any input would be taken.

I have considered the .338 Lapua round for the range but more importantly and THE principle reason of effectiveness, as my caliber of choice for a new rifle platform. Bolt action w/ optics to match. Buy cheap, get cheap... Would be interested in hearing the pros/cons of this. Thank you.

Looking forward to get a hunting rifle based on a customized 700 BDL action LH in 7mm RM. Latest in autumn 2013. Will be build up in Norway. 26' fluted ss barrel from Lilja or Walther (#5) in a classic High - Tech stock with latest bedding technology. Winchester 3p safety and Jewell trigger (adjusted to 800g). Recknagel picatinny rail and a Swarovski Z6 Illuminated 2. generation. That's going to be a shooting machine!

You guys have got me all fired up on long range shooting. I've got a Kimber 8400 mag in .300 mag. 26" barrel with 2.5 lb trigger. The action is long but the magazine well was short for factory OAL. I took the block out of the back of the mag well. The mag can now hold rounds that are @ .150 longer. I can now have the option of bullets seated out to the lands. I purchased a Leupold LR 4x14x40mm with side focus ( parallax ) I need the scope to fit in a scabbard. My hopes that I can make this a good 600+ yard saddle gun. I horse pack a lot and hunt on foot and horses mostly . I have to keep the all over size and weight down to fit in a scabbard. I just wanted to share this with you guys. Hope I'm on the right track with the Kimber rifle. I feel the .300 mag is an ideal cartridge for most everything I shoot at.gun)
