We had a local 600yd range we shot F-Class on till the owner shut it down.. now theres no range thats close by unless you wanna drive 2-4 hours each way.
So we just shoot on the farm and have fun.

Nonnleslman,

Howdy, Sorry to hear you lost your shooting range.

If I had some idea of where you are located. It would
be helpful in making suggestions.

Here in Central Oregon we are finally getting our 1000
yd range ready for competition. We will be having shoots
once a month until October. NRA and Palma.

Yes. 1-200 BR, 1K BR, Practical. Setting to go F/O but laying prone and breathing at the same time is problematic (is that a real word). I'd like to say being 71 is the problem but it's really not. Open-mouth-fill-to-the-top is the problem. Still shooting and competing is good under any circumstance. we do have a 100 yard 22 match that'll test you. My Ole Lady KA on that (and any BR)
Competition keeps your blade honed.

Shooting is fun. Laying prone and shooting 600, 800, 900 and 1K is like work.
I am just now after two months of curtailing how many times I bend my elbow,
getting to the point I can breath and shoot. A good mat helps, with sewn in
elbow pads. I also wear my old roofing knee pads.

dedication and practice, practice.

600 and 1000 f-class and benchrest for me. What a treat.

I know what you mean. Unfortunately I cannot shoot the prone position any more.
At 81 years of age the body just won't do what the spirit wills.

In order to compete in benchrest I will have to invest in a different rifle. I am not sure that our club has a benchrest shoot. But, I will sure find out.

1Hunter,
I know what you mean, it still hurts me shooting ftr class. I used my ftr rifle in benchrest
till I got one for benchrest and I can still use that one for either. Check with your club and see if you can start up one. You be surprised how many shooters might be interested. Going from 3 inch
x ring to a 1 inch at 600 yards.

Wendlz,

Thanks for the reply.
We have a Palma shoot scheduled for this coming weekend. I will be going just
to help out. I want to observe and see how many participants we end up with.

I am sure you are right about more people interested in bench shooting, than
Palma.

Do you have a source for targets? They seem to be scarce as hens teeth around here.

YES Long range precision rifle.
The trigger and scope time is all good and challenging.
Primarily Kentucky elevation and windage for me.

it great training and practice gun)
