The killings aren't going to stop with gun control, they will only increase. It wasn't until Hitler exercised gun control that murder became okay, as long as someone in power said so. Which lead to the holocaust. It will happen here too if gun control persist, it's just not the way to impact senseless crime. In Switzerland that don't have this problem because they recognize how important it is to defend self, family and rights! Gun control is the first step toward Totalitarianism. Get the right mad person at the TOP and that person will dictate the law as they see it (Fascism begins) and many American people will eventually be mass murdered... It happened in Cambodia too. Remember Pol Pot? I can list many more throughout past history right up until this past decade. Think about it. It's what political minds in this country are moving towards. We don't need a repeat of World War II.

Of course you are right on all counts. Problem is, politicians don't listen (as evidenced by the mounting opposition to gun control 'of some sort' as proclaimed by Obama by mid January 2013.

Again, I strongly suspect that 'control' will be in the form of a reinstatement of the Clinton assault rifle ban, this time however, I suspect even more restrictive. Owners of existing 'assault type rifles, will, of course be allowed to keep them (for now at least) but no more will be sold. I also expect to see larger magazines (over 5 rounds) to be removed from th marketplace entirely.

It's public sentiment, wrong or right. Keep in mind that lawful possession of a firearm is still a minority in this country.

A lot of the blame, if you will, lies with the firearm manufacturers themselves. Just look at public advertising for AR type firearms. It's not hard to read an ad, most any ad, and envision a para-military situation where the owner is a wannabe shooter.....

You don't see that sort of thing with long range bolt guns nor do you see it with revolvers or even semi-auto pistols. Only with AR platforms and the public, the politicians and your neighbors read those ads. Think about it.

I'd say creative advertising by the dealers and manufacturers went a long way to shooting themselves in the foot.....

It's coming. I'm not happy about it because I feel it infringes on my Second and First Amendment rights but majority still rules in this country.... I think at least.

Sidecar, I think you do make a good point on responsible advertising. When the politicians decide they can get more tax revenue and votes, they will choose whatever method to make a new law! They like playing God and creating a new job and making us feel safe. Have you ever seen a poor politician? Just like tobacco and booze and now marijuana, if there's money and votes in it they'll help you and me out by taxing it.

It started out with them saying the gunman had 2 hand guns a glock and sig and now he had a ar15 thay fownd in the trunk of his car and all the suden he used it to do all the killing what the f--- the guvernment will do or lie or what ever thay dam well please to get what thay want.And I dont know what we can do about it. Ever since the gun control debate heated up during the Clinton Administration, the people were always the problem, but people being people would rather place the blame for the action and result on something other than themselves, in this case an inantimate object, a firearm....

Keep in mind at all times, who is the Secretary of State and who advises Obama....... Bill and Hillary Clinton, of course.......

IMPO. I don't consider this president to be an independent thinker by any means......

So, you have the Clinton's in a power position and the manufacturers shooting themselves in the foot and wacko's using assualt type rifles to exterminate their imagined quarry with and the voting public, at least the majority, in favor of gun control of some sort..... Nice recipe for disaster....for us.

I know this is politics and I realize this is a forbidden subject (under the users agreement) on this site, but people need to understand that the very existence of this site (and many others) will depend on what occurs on Capitol Hill, Never think for a second that politicians wouldn't like to control the Internet content you read..... They sure would and th current climate on Capitol Hill is conducive to just that.....

As far as Long Range and Hunting are concerned we may be well advised to start building single shot riles. They are stronger and typically more accurate and I'd say will hold their value better down the road. Maybe Len should think about this and add them to his line-up? I think my next build will be one. I'll let him build my first if he does! Len, I want it numbered and if it's my idea that's all I ask. I'd be honored to buy it from you. 300 win mag okay.

Dave thank you, I like you followed this pretty much from the beginning and heard the same thing I told my wife that last night when the newscast was saying he used an ar15, that he used two pistols and had an ar in the trunk The media just ****es me off. Can not beleive the BS we are fed every day.
