Do you check zero when you arrive to your destination?

Just a curiosity question to see what everyone does.
This is assuming driving to a different state (not flying).

I don’t check zero. But I normally shoot around 1000 yards if I can to make sure impacts are lining up at the new elevation and conditions.

Flying: you betcha! Your rifle case will get tossed around big time. It's nice to check and have confidence that it'll be on when it matters.

Fortunately I'm out west now, but for the past several seasons, I was flying with a rifle from Cleveland to Wyoming.

My hunt spot is around an hour drive away. Driving to the range isn’t much different.

If I was driving much further or flying…absolutely.

I’m with Hunt…..at some point before the hunt I will find a rock fall or something around 1000 yards and check the drop with the current enviro’s and DA to confirm and tweak if need be.

Every time. I say it's to check zero, but in reality, it helps settle the nerves after a long drive.

I just enjoy getting to shoot long range at a nice facility when I hunt with my buddy in SE Montana. Settles, the nerves, verifies zero, builds confidence, etc. Seems like a good idea to me. He does the same with his rifle when he comes down here for axis every year. Besides...who needs an excuse to shoot?

I hunt in the state where I live, so no. When I lived in Alaska I flew, but still in the same state. I would check zero only if it was a bumpy ride or rifle got bumped around a lot.

That is a "USER RETURN TO ZERO" issue.

My home lease or local hunts with friends then not usually but I shoot a little during season for fun.

I don't fly so there is that. I do check my zero before the hunt whether it's in state or out of state. Usually the week before the hunt starts. The one thing that always bothered me was jamming my rifle down in a saddle scabbard, riding 15-20 miles. Now I did check it before I started but when I get there I'm in the middle of my hunting country so I don't really want to be making a bunch of noise. Besides what could happen being on a horse for several hours. I will add that in all the years I did this I never had an issue.
