I'm not a magnum guy myself so take that for what it's worth. My vote would be 280AI if you reload. If not, 30-06. If you must have a magnum, 300WM.

I have semi-retired my 378 Weatherby Mag for a while. I just got a new 340 Weatherby Mag that I have yet to shoot. But it is a magnum. I am 68 years old and I am glad I do not have to put my guns up against my knees to shoot them. My shoulders are fine, it is my knees that are gone!

when I'm done with this 6mmCM (which is an absolute tac driving rifle) I'm gonna build a 300WSM or buy another SAKO 85 on a carbon stock if they don't offer one.

280, 280AI, 7mm RM, 300 WM, 30-06. 270, 300 Weatherby would all work OK for me. I like 30 and 7mm calibers the best, but the 270 would work OK too.
