Fun thread to follow! Looking forward to seeing the results.
I have 3 different barrels shouldered right against the carbon with the brake. These barrels are a strqnd/resin wound design(paradigm/pederson), not sheet wrapped like the hells canyon/Christensen barrels. I wonder if the sheet wrapping isn't as strong as the strand design, in that axis anyways.
Standard threading and chambering is easy on a cf. No difference in the way I do a cf or a fluted.
Great advice. Lots of nasty stuff that only needs one shot to destroy your lungs. One thing I did learn making carbon composites for RC airplanes years ago. That stuff will bury in your skin like nothing I have ever seen, and make some nasty sores. Make sure you have the right PPE or you will regret it in a couple of months. I made this mistake, please don't.
Do not touch it with your bare hands, and don't open the package and look at it without a respirator and goggles.Whoever sent me some CF tow from texas, I cannot read your writing on the envelope to thank you in person .... on here Thank you very much. Waiting for some epoxy that is supposed to show up today, then I can give the tow you sent me a test run. Again, THANK YOU!
It will make some nasty sores, with plenty of puss. Takes awhile. You can't get it out either. Don't know if it is the carbon or germs sitting on it, but I am a lumper and it doesn't matter.I've been told that like Stainless & Titanium slivers/chips, CF also doesn't fester because your body doesn't recognize it as foreign. Those with first-hand experience, any truth to that?
