DIY Camo Dip Kit

I got the stock dipped on my rem XCR LRT for $80.00, by a guy near by (SC). I think he charges about $175 for the entire gun. The finish seems very, very durable. In fact I asked him how tough it was and he said that in order to remove a "dipped" finish, he has to bead-blast it for a long time. It is such a pain to remove, he will just put a new layer on top of the old, if someone wants a different pattern. I would venture to say that a dipped-finish will hold up better than a painted finish, second only to the molded in colors of McMillan. I would highly recommend it.

I might have to give it a try, so far everything I paint comes out to tacie cool not the smooth sexy or hunting cool which I would prefer. Muzzle brakes are stainless so if it blast away a little in the baffles no biggie just worried about it to continue to peal from there. Just want the hunting look not the tactical!!

It does look pretty slick... guess I need to start looking around the big box stores for some kind of container big enough to do a long rifle stock in. Pretty sure the wife would object to me using the bath tub ;)
