Custom Rifle Builder Question

I see a lot of just typical builders being listed...nearly every one listed so far will lose 25-50% of their value the second you receive it.

Not saying they don't build good rifles...but if money is no object...come on guys lol

I think I'll add to my list a full exhibition grade wood stocked Blaser R8 with multiple barrels.

D'Arcy Echols stainless sporter with a second exhibition grade wood stock. But probably pushing $20k by then.

But a Holland and Holland or Purdy would be up high on the list. Just need to win the power ball.

I have 6 customs, and have shot customs by a LOT of other smiths.
My personal rifles are all from AZ smiths. AxisWorks & Phoenix Custom Rifles. All of them are .2-.3MOA guns with proper load work up. Some were .2 right out of the gate. Some required finding the right load. All are amazing. I would recommend either of these to any AZ shooter/hunter.

I have also shot rifles from:
LRI, SAC, Lane Precision, Piercision, Defensive Edge, Craig's Customs, West Tx Ordinance, Montour, Hill Country, many other AxisWorks, many other PCR, Southern Xpress, and probably 8-10 other smiths that I cannot think of off the top of my head, but knew the names of most. A few built by some home based smiths as well. Some shoot better than others, some are far more refined than others. Some were probably specified by the owner in a route I would personally never go, which biased my opinion of build quality & choice. Some are works of art that I would feel bad taking into the field. Some looked like they would be a good loaner rifle to your cousin's friend's brother who drives around hanging out the window of his dude-bro truck chucking beer cans out the window and smoking a cigarette while blasting some modern rap crap @ 180db that sounds like every other rap out right now while driving down the dirt road with all 4 windows open, with dust engulfing every inch of the inside of his cab.....in other words, it would make a good paperweight or hammer for your fence posts.

Only 1 or 2 of the aforementioned names in the last 5 pages would I avoid from what I have personally seen, handled and shot.

As for my "dream rifle gunsmith".....man, that is like asking what is the one thing you would pick to eat for every meal for the rest of your life. Variety man, it is the spice of life. In other words, Too hard of a choice for me to make.

Kevin Cram at Montour County Rifles. Built my last one in 6.5 GAP. I have several custom built ones but none that shot EVERY load i tried into less than 1/2"
The load i settled on until the rifle settles gave me a .24MOA group at 720 yards.

My Comp gun was done by LRI, Dad's SAUM by SAC, my brothers 308 is going to done by Deep South Tactical here in Brandon, MS. I think if money weren't an issue and i knew Chad was doing it from start to finish i'd probably go LRI.

Pm me i have a question for you that i would like your personal opinion on after reading your experience with many of the custom guys.
Thanks

Scott Harrold of Quarter Minute Magnums build THE most accurate hunting rifles around. No one matches his accuracy guarantee. I have at least 6 of them and have probably shot 15 of them. Worst accuracy I have witnessed is a 1/4 Moa 3 shot group at 100 once the load is dialed in. Only drawback is he doesn't build lightweight rifles at the moment. I would give the nod to Lane Precision rifles for lightweight rifles. I have a custom 28 nosler from him that weighs 7.15 pounds and shoots in the the .1s and zeros. Hope this info helps.

Well they can't all be as good as they like to claim!! ..27 different people
just can't build the " Worlds most accurate hunting rifles" Then you have the ones trying to steer you towards something they are trying to get rid of that you don't want!
I've seen people on this list I wouldn't buy a BB gun from! For the very reasons I've mentioned...Which brings up the problem new guys have..Who do you Trust?
Flashest web page? Biggest Claims..Just who??
