Custom Rifle Builder Question

Steve Pratt with Elk Meadow Performance in UT, Red Hawk Rifles in Grand Junction, CO. Northwest Action Works in Klamath Falls, Oregon, Shawn Carlock at Defensive Edge in Idaho and Travis Redell with R Bros in WA are all known for building top notch custom rifles. I would be comfortable having a rifle built by any one of these guys.

Don't have a lot of custom rifles
But RBOS does build a nice accurate rifle. And seems to be a a very nice person. Also my brother has a rifle that Chase Curtis built and it's a very nice rifle and extremely accurate. Chase was also very helpful and willing to go the extra mile.

One and only that would be a big long range rig. Kirby Allen's .375 Am. It took a while but he was in constant communication with me and the rifle is amazing.
I also really love my pierce engineering lightweight 6.5. Those guys bent over backwards for me and finished the barrels action in about two weeks and had to wait on my stock total time was 3 months. They even made some custom parts out of Ti for me.
Out of the many I have had build these two stand head and shoulders above all the others. I won't name bad ones.
Kirby is a great guy and I"ve never heard complaint one about his work. He's also an active member and sponsor here so he deserves special mention.

I'm surprised Chad Dixon at LRI wasn't mentioned yet, unless I just missed it.
Another good choice. Lots of great builders out there.
This thread shows that to be the case.

20 years ago and beyond there were but a handful. The explosion since the interest in LR began to peak shortly after the US invation of Afghanistan following 9-11 changed that forever.

The entire custom rifle and long range hunting/shooting game was forever changed by 9-11 and tens of thousands of jobs have been created across the industry as a result.

We should all keep that in mind next time we head to the polls because once again for the next two years and beyond gun control, especially of semi autos, suppresors, medium and large bore centerfires, and anthing that looks "tactical", likely even high power optics and do it all range finders/weather stations/calcultors are going to be a target.

Recommendations should be based of of actual experience and not what you heard. IMO if someone has no experience with a certain smith and has never had them build a rifle first hand they should not be putting them up here.
