The best solution is real easy, go buy a GM or Ford PU with inverter plug in bed. Freezer in bed, plug it in and go! Wonder if I can sell that to "Boss" as necessary hunting accessory? Problem I have is a 2009 Ram with lifetime powertrain warranty so hard to give up. Anybody got one?

Just install an inverter and put a plug in the bed. That's what my wife would say.....

Shhhhhhhh! My truck has 188K! Getting close to replacement and I think this is "another" good reason for upgrade. I looked into adding inverter but there was some question by dealership of impact on warranty. Can't see how but didn't want to take chance. I bet they are looking for any reason to cancel since truck is 12 years old.

well, that changes everything. Looks like you're getting a new truck. Have her call me and I will back you up. OR you could just ask for forgiveness instead of permission. That's what I would do, BUT, I can always stay at the Duck Club until she cools off LOL.

BUT you did get me thinking on how to add an inverter and just came up with great portable solution. I have a winch plug at back of truck for my boat trailer winch power. It's 8 ga to the plug. Has a breaker built in to battery. So how easy to just add a winch plug to inverter power supply, plug into winch plug and voila!

Don't tell her you did it. She will get a new car with the money you saved on the truck LOL!

See if you can find one intended for a boat. I'll bet normal ones aren't waterproof and you'll just want to put it in the back of the truck when you are using it. Otherwise you might have to engineer some sort of vented enclosure.
