Burris Veracity PH

R657-5-8. Rifles, Shotguns, Airguns, and Crossbows.
(1) A rifle used to hunt big game must:
(a) fire centerfire cartridges and expanding bullets; and
(b) have no attachment capable of electronic function, other than illuminated reticles.
Veracity PH scopes ARE LEGAL IN UTAH

I've been speaking with Oregon officials. It's being evaluated by the upper levels of the chain of command now. We'll see because they are having a new department head being chosen. And well we'll just have to wait and see.

Bought a 1st gen Veracity PH 4-20 and have been testing it on a 22lr for HUD performance. Wow what an amazing scope! with good ballistic dope loaded it's just range for distance and dial the HUD for impact. I will swap this scope to my 06 for crop damage deer culling this fall.

Trying to decide between the Burris Veracity and Trijicon Tenmile scope. The Tenmile is about 600.00 more but it's a scope I know will work and I don't know anything about the Burris.Still trying to decide.

For me the limited moa elevation adjustment of the Tenmile is a detractor. Only 50 moa total elevation for $1600 isn't a good option FOR ME.

I have a self imposed limit of 600 yards.I went a tad over that a few years back and took a nice muley but I too would love to have more distance.
Thats why I have not pulled the trigger yet.
But I don't like a 56 mm objective either.34mm tube would be nice.I may need to make a comprimise and go with a large objective.

Grice Gun Shop has a good price on the Burris Veracity PH 5-20.
Has anyone ever used Grice Gun Shop in the past?
I may go that route.
Tired of SFP scopes and always having to remember the clicks are not MOA unless it's on full power.Halfing a reading and making a 300 to 400 yard shot with a SFP is harder than FFP and most times we only get seconds before the elk is gone.
Anyone use Grice?

I love mine; it works great! It holds zero very well, my only complaint is that it seems like my reticle in my scope may be canted a bit. Otherwise I am buying more for future builds. I got the $700 version in the 4-20X50, it's solid!

Is that the GEN 2PH model?

I am so glad you asked that question.I spent quite a bit of time looking at the Burris Veracity PH with no knowledge of Gen 1 and Gen 2.
The one at Grice is a Gen 1 I think and a good deal but the glass on the Gen 2 is supposed to be a lot better, the Gen 2 is shorter.
I can't find specs yet on Gen 2 to compare but I will spend a little more for the Gen 2 I think.

The physical difference I see from ads is the Gen 2 has a red ring between the magnification selector and the eyepiece.
Close to same weight, just a few oz's difference. Here is a pic from Sheels ads:

Edit to add:In Burris description of the new model vs older (old model#200200,new model # 200203) listed as:
  • EXTRA-LOW DISPERSION (ED) GLASS: Veracity PH line comes equipped with an improved extra-low dispersion (ED) glass. The revised ED glass further reduces chromatic aberrations and enhances light transmission for clear and crisp edge-to-edge viewing and exceptional low-light performance. Whether you are working the dim light of heavy timber or full sunshine on the wide prairie, the Veracity PH riflescopes will ensure a sharp, clean image for game locating and precise shot placement.
