Bias in the ELR Central reporting of the "World Record Event"?

I personally believe the writer didn't have the event sorted out perfectly in his head

After a couple days, very little other reporting....

Turns out that's what it was. Someone at the keyboard that didn't do a very good job of "reporting".

Well hopefully the reporter / writer will learn over time and get better at his craft.

Like I learned that it turns out the Remington 700 is in fact the best rifle ever, evident from this article! Thanks for confirming my bias for Rem 700s! Cant wait to chamber one in .375 cheytec, hope there's enough meat on the bolt face!

Over all it was an interesting article, sounds like a fun shoot / event!

Edit: I really do have a bias toward Remington 700s. And I know the .375 won't work in it.

You can not expect a perfectly crafted full report from any event anymore, in this day and age with social media and everything instantly available to those so far from the reality of the event it's all just jumbled snippets till a while after the even when the dust settles and we get the whole narrative.
K2M was the same way, a small group of guys pushed this same stuff only to find out from first hand accounts from very impartial observers that had video to show it was just BS be pushed by guys who have a grudge.

The below article was most likely written by someone from Applied Ballistics/ELR Central.

There is no mention of who contributed the article. If that is revealed, I am willing to retract my opinion and statement that the reporting is bias.

Since the reporting was gathered across multiple sources are you going to retract this thread and it's intent per your original post?

wow, I followed the ELR competition as best I could... I really don't think anyone has a say in how it went or what it was unless the were their putting their bellies in the dirt behind their guns...If you don't like their rules don't go... If you don't like the reporting don't read it... From what I gathered none of the actual people that actual competed are upset about anything ..As a fresh organization from what I can tell without being there. They did as good as job as they could... I am sure rules and other things will be revised as this grows. At least they are out trying to do something real... Not just typing on a keyboard

Like a lot of us, I was not there, but I was very interested in how this shoot was going to go. I was looking for any info available on the day of the shoot.

From my seat, it looked like the 'records' were being reported in nearly real-time on different social media, as they happened. I was eager to get all that info and glad to see it, but I understood the format of the event and realized the lead shooter could easily change as the relays went on, and into the afternoon relays. And that is pretty much how it went.

By the end of the day it was more than clear who shot what. The scoring roster was shared publicly. I didn't notice any bias, but then I wasn't looking for any.

From the pics I have seen, it looked like a great day, and Nate's accomplishment was duly honored by his fellow competitors.

Congrats to all who were there and participated. Looked like a really great gathering of long range talent and equipment.

I'm still entertaining myself with the 'obsolete' 308 and 30-06.

I don't want to bore anyone with that stuff from a bygone era anymore......grin.
